I lost 2 lbs. My goal was 5, but I'm happy with any loss! I also lost 2 inches from my waist, and an inch from my hips! Yay!

5'm not quite at goal today -- but only .4 pounds away. That's not too bad.

It's been a crazy month of trying new things and figuring out "what's next?" I don't have it all sorted out, but I gave myself lots to think about -- and lost 2 pounds in the process. 2 pounds per month is my usual goal. I was hoping for 2.4 pounds this month ... but OK.

Well, this was a bad month for me. Never could get motivated to keep up with my exercise. I've also had a hard time tracking my food. I really need to get on track for May.

Well, I gained .4 lbs this month. Will try to kick it up a notch for May. It could have been worse.

Today I did Jillian's Banish fat boost metabolism becuase my 6 year old was home with a fever. By the time I started he did try and join me and was so cute doing the burpees, and walking planks. His fever was down, but now coming back.

Lots of training yesterday, almost 3.5 hours. Today is a rest day, and tomorrow starts a recovery week. I have .2 more to lose to make goal. Going to be a close one. If I stay in calorie range I'll make it.

I need to have a good weekend to hit my goal. I am only a few tenths away ... but my weight (and my eating pattern) has been bouncing up and down all month. I need to have a few solid days of eating light.

I have a regular check up at the doctor scheduled for Monday morning and am trying to figure out what to tell her. I have been suspecting lately that my thyroid medication may need increased again, but I am not 100% sure -- and I would hate to lose my credibility by complaining too often. I wish the lab tests for hypothyroidism were more valid, precise, and reliable.

Felt awful after eating only 2 pieces of pizza last night, 2 small glasses of wine and 1 small brownie. Was so sluggish and tired when I got home but could not fall asleep. Then came the heartburn and acid reflux I have not experienced in a long time. Guess my body is trying to tell me it likes this healthy eating it's getting used to.

In my last post, I said "I really need to get going". Well, I have. Tracking what I eat every day. I'm swimming/biking/running quite a bit. Still need to get back on track with strength training 2x a week. At present, I'm strength training about 0x a week emoticon. There's always something to improve. Things are going great! I'm expecting to make my goal emoticon!

Yes, I will be setting up a challenge for May as well. But good to set a goal for the one week.

Today I did Jillian's No More Trouble zones with 8 and 12 lb weights.

I was SUPER surprised on the scale this morning! 151.8!!! WHOO HOOO. Trick is keeping it there. And with son's birthday this weekend, it's going to be hard. Pizza tomorrow night, cake and ice cream too. And on Sunday again. JUst need to make sure I give to everyone else and none for me! And only 2 slices of pizza, with LOTS of water. Looks like the weather will be nice!! Maybe we can go for a bike ride in the afternoon. Burn some of it off.

I was so naughty today! 2 parties, both "covered dish" with a lot of nibbling and sampling a lot dishes. I didn't even try to record them in the food tracker and knowing that, I felt "free" to eat more than I should. For breakfast, my department had a breakfast for "Administrative Professionals Day" ... and then for dinner, my condo building had a party.

The food was good. I ate it. Tomorrow is another day. I dread my morning weigh-in tomorrow. I'll need to eat light for the rest of the month to make up for it and reach my goal.

I really need to stay away from sodium, it's what causes the temporary weight gains with water weight. I'm good with chicken and greens today.

I plan on hitting lower body class for kettlebells already got in 350 ths, hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Lost a little over a pound this week, I ate pretty poorly over the weekend though and my weight had been a little lower earlier in the week. So I'm going to try and re-focus and do better about meal planning. I'm hoping to still make my goal of 200 by the end of the month but it will be tough. Even if I don't hit my goal, I'm glad to be moving in the right direction.

slacked off on working out the past wk. mon-wed. not happy about that. just busy at work. but, now, back on track. def going to spin tmrw. my body missed the post workout high.

Eating wise, being pretty good. not caving into junky carb during stressful time. only one lunch i didnt have salad, but a lox bagel no cream cheese (yes, the sandwich guy thought i passed on the point of having a lox bagel. so funny . :-) practiced breathing. So, very happy about the eating part

scale wise, hope for another 1lb to finish april off.

1 more wk to go! keep up the great work! dont give up!

Good day ... will come in just under my recommended calorie range, with good numbers for carbs, fats, and proteins. 40 minutes of exercise with one of my new DVD's that includes both some cardio and some light weights. That's a good balance for me.

The scale was very kind today, saying that I lost a full pound since yesterday. Of course I expect it to go up a little tomorrow, but I am happy with my progress this month.

Still holding within 1-2 lbs which I know is normal. Just on the higher side today. Could be from the chinese last night! but instead of my normal 8:30 shake, I just had a bunch of water instead to try and flush the sodium out! I am drinking a lot of water today as well.

Today I did Bob's Total body transformation workout. The bridge sets at the end are KILLER.

Very bad day of eating yesterday (among other things, I ate half of a medium pizza! ). So I expect tomorrow's weigh in will be pretty depressing.

On the bright side, I woke up this morning and did 40 minutes of yoga. Also recommitted to healthy eating. Putting yesterday's slip-up behind me and moving on....

llou, I think you did the right thing in listening to your body. Losing weight faster is great but not if you feel weak and obsess over food. Your new plan sounds good. Hang in there. Good luck everyone. We can do this.

It's been an interesting 2 weeks for me as I have experimented with "Intermittent Fasting" also known as the "Fast Diet" or "5:2" diet. You eat normally for 5 days a week and then on the other 2 days (NOT consecutive days), you do a semi-fast, staying under 500 calories. There is some preliminary research showing that an ocassional day of extremely low calories can stimulate certain healthy physiologic processes -- but there is not yet enough research to draw any firm conclusions.

Anyway, I thought I would give it a try as I ocassionally use a semi-fast to help me get back on track and get my head back in the game. It actually worked pretty well for me, but I decided this morning to no longer follow it in a strict sense. I had fewer problems with the fast days than most people, but they did leave me feeling a little bit weak. But the whole process made me obsess about food -- and what I was "allowed" to eat that day -- and that doesn't seem psychologically healthy to me. It was also a little harder to manage my blood glucose with such inconsistent food intake.

On the postive side, I lost about 2.5 pounds in 2 weeks -- and that is GREAT for me. I rarely lose more than 2 pounds in a month. But as I said, I felt a little weak, and it was leading me to develop an unhealthy obsession with food.

So ... I am going back to my more "normal" routine of eating "lower carb" and trying to stay in the low end of my SP range every day, striving for a consistent healthy daily routine. I will ocassionally overeat ... and I will ocassionally fast ... as I judge appropriate for the circumstances. But I won't plan to fast as often as 2 days per week unless the research indicates it is really better to do that. Perhaps I will chose to aim for under 1000 calories twice per week instead of 500 -- more like "caloric cycling" than "fasting."

However, now that I have "quit," I feel kind'a bad about it. I liked losing 2.5 pounds in just 2 weeks. I hate to give that up, but I think it is the right thing to do. I think my body "likes" consistency better than the swings that this diet brings.

Met friends at the pub last night for the last of my birthday celebrations. They surprised me by inviting some more friends so I had 10 people yelling surprise when I walked in. It felt really good. I tried to stick to 2 glasses of wine but a friend bought me a 3rd, then I started on the hershey kisses someone brought. Hopefully I didn't gain. I was feeling pretty bad when I got up today so I'm postponing my walk/run until tomorrow. Now I'm off to get some aspirin! Have a great weekend.

Today I did Jillian's No more trouble zones again. Feel like I didn't get enough in though.
Will have to push it up tomorrow.
I don't know WHY, maybe cause it's SO Cold outside today I SO want to go to panera and have the broccolli cheddar soup with the bread bowl for dinner tonight!!! That would SO KILL My calories though.

I ate way too many carbs for breakfast. I was hungry and going to a breakfast meeting at work. Usually, they serve things like eggs, quiche, etc. -- good low to moderate carb choices. But this morning, it was yogurt, granola, and fruit ... and I was REALLY hungry. It's rare that I "feel" hyperglycemic, but I did this morning -- and my blood glucose was still a little high this evening, in spite of having a very low carb lunch.

I've been fine with calories & exercise lately ... but as a diabetic, I need to do better with the carbs.
