This is late!

Well, I had two weeks off from working out. I got sick and then I had a tooth pulled (unrelated). But you're not supposed to work out for a day after having a tooth pulled and I'm always overly cautious so I took another week off. Anyway, I'm back at it.

Didn't hit my goal, but I'm pretty siked that I lost 8lbs during this challenge and didn't gain. I was so afraid over the last two weeks that I was going to gain 10 or more pounds and have to start over.

Due to a recent and very stressful move I have not been trekking along with my weight loss. I managed to gain much of my lost weight back and amazingly most of it fell back off again! I am happy that I have managed to maintain most of my weight loss even though life got super crazy since the end of April. How is everyone else managing in this challenge? I am still closer to my goals now than in the beginning. :)

Summer Goal: 180

Even though the scale has been good to me lately, I'm going to stay off of it until the first day of summer.

One reason is because I'm slowly losing weight, but slowly losing can be discouraging when you're checking the scale every other day. I want to leave it alone for a while so I can come back to a big change (5+ lbs).

Another reason is that I feel I'm more obsessed with the scale than the amazing progress I'm making.I'm about to complete my walk/jog 5K program and after that I'm starting the 5K jogging program. Running has always been hard for me so to be able to jog for even a little bit is awesome. I want to focus on the positive and not just the scale.

I'll try to stop in for updates, but you won't see a weigh-in from me until June 21.

Since it was a 3-day weekend, I decided to finally give myself a break for a bit. I've been applying for jobs like crazy, taking on freelance work, and trying to lose weight. Every once and while you need a break.

So I allowed myself to relax for three days although I still worked out. However, it didn't seem like working out. I played tennis with my family and did a lot of walking. I feel ready to get back on track now. Luckily I stayed at the same weight as before. Now I just have to go work off those beers from yesterday.

I have gained back about 5 of the 9 pounds I lost. AAAGH! I just recovered from pneumonia and never got back to my workouts and have gotten off track with my eating as well. My plan is to start tracking my food again and I am going to try a new workout regime of jogging mixed with other cardio. I hope this works! I just need to stick with it!

Short term goals:

Weigh less than 200 lbs. by summer!

After losing and gaining the same couple pounds for weeks, I've finally dropped down to 191. Which is amazing because I kept hovering between 195-198. Needless to say I'm syked about the loss. I'm hoping to hit the 180s by June and be at exactly 180 by the first day of summer. This is the smallest I've been in about three years. emoticon

KYLIECAT1, you'll lose the weight. I was the same way a couple weeks ago, eating within range and working out but not seeing any weight loss. One day your hard work is going to hit with a significant loss on the scales. Just keep working!

I havent weighed in because my scale hasnt budged and I am swearing off it , I have been eating on target and exercising so I am hoping something happens , I have been tracking food both in my weight watchers journal and also on spark ! somethings gotta give ! :( But I am still tuning in because regardless of my issues with the weight I am still a team member and love to hear about someone elses weight loss even if its not mine so post ladies !!!!!!! Cheer me up ! emoticon

Scales not budging. But I participated in the Color Run on Saturday and I went from a size 16 in pants to a size 14. I also went down to an XL in shirts. I think that by the end of summer I may actually fit into regular size clothes. This is exciting as I went to Forever 21 yesterday and the plus size section was tiny.

Can't wait for summer and continued success.

I broke down and stepped on the scale. Lost a pound, which makes me happy, however it was probably just dehydration as I am just getting over pneumonia. I plan on continuing on with P90x when I have totally recovered. I was going to be starting week 8 when I started not feeling well. Anyway, glad I didn't gain weight. I would really like to lose 15 pounds before I take a trip to visit relatives which is coming up in July. My son has started running again so maybe I will follow his lead.

Good luck to you all! Sounds like there are many of you who are doing really well! Good job!! This is a tough journey, glad there is a place to go where we can support each other!

Congrats KALIFORNIA81 sounds like your doing fantastic ! I have broke through my plateau I think and hope I can hold it together ! I cut my carbs down and added abit more calories to compensate ! Next week i will add some more carbs and cut down some calories , Good luck everyone !

I've been doing the Insanity workouts now for about 7 weeks, and was hoping to see much more of a result, but for some miraculous reason I began to notice massive changes to my body this weekend. I finally got under the 160 mark and hope to be to 130 by the summer. Good luck to everyone on this challenge.

How was everyone's weekend?

Mine didn't go so great. The only exercise I got in was walking my dog. Our plumbing is messed up right now so we can't use the water at all. That means no running the dishwasher, doing laundry, or showering. Since I can't shower, I decided to forgo running so that my coworkers don't have to deal with my stink.

Here's to hoping that the plumber can fix it today! I have a 5k on Saturday and I really need to train more.

Not making too much progress on the scale but other then that its good . Good to hear good news about some of us and the rest of us stick with it keep up the good work ! During the two hell weeks at work I gained 3 pounds and now I lost a half a pound 172.0 , This week I am cutting down carbs a bit and keeping within my limit and logging food on spark tracker Also pretty much the week off starting today so I can get in the exercise I need and hopefully can gain control of any emotional eating issues I have . Good luck you guys I love to hear about others progress and for those of us whose progress is slow , Keep your chin up we can do it and pretty soon we will be posting great and excited post like the rest of our sisters who are having a good week !

~Noticing Changes~
Today I put on a pair of pants that I hadn't worn since last weekend and they fit better already. Muffin top gone from these pants and my shirts are looser in my shoulders and chest. Also noticed a huge difference drinking more water. My skin is more radiant and toned. Love this feeling. Week 2, day 7 ~ down 9 pounds.

Week 2 ~ Day 5
Doing good! Last week JM Ripped level 1 x4 days, diet was clean. This week JM Ripped Level 2 x 4 days so far and diet really tight. Salads, Vi Shakes, fruit, Vita Green & Earth Tea, LOTS of water. No snacking, which I am really proud of. Lost 8lb last week and next weigh in will be Monday 5/6 ~ Goal is 180 to keep me on track.

**5k beginners running program I wanted to start Monday of this week didn't work out due to now babysitting my baby niece during the day, 7 months old. I need to scout out garage sales for jogging strollers this weekend. This is an obstacle that I can let stop my running program but I am instead using it as an opportunity and a hurdle to jump over. I am going to do what I did when my daughter was small and take my niece with me. It will get her outdoors which is good to. My dog was going to be my running buddy everyday to get his exercise, but I may need to get up a little early and take him on a morning walk the days he can't run with me when I have my niece. A dog and a jogging stroller will for sure knock over this hurdle when combined. Separate, they give me an extra morning walk and a little extra resistance on my run. I am excited for Monday!

I've been running my ass off and trying hard to keep my calories down. Despite this, the scale kept giving me high numbers all week. Today, it finally read 194, so I'm back down to where I was a week ago. Hopefully, this plateau or whatever it is, is over and I can start losing weight again.

My Weekend consisted of work , work and more work ! That's what happens when you work in a tourist area ! lol. I worked 14 hours on Sat and 8 on Sunday ! Before work Sunday I went for a 15 min walk though and after work another 15 min walk ! Today and Tuesday are my days off for the week. You would think working an average of 12 hours a day and never sitting down I would have lost weight but no I gained ! Never the less I am down a pound and a half and now just another pound and a half to go. My weight just keeps flying up and down on the scale its crazy ! Today I am going to take my measurements and try on my " Goal pants " Its a great day here in Vermont no rain and not cold ! lol. So will go for a long walk or hike later ... maybe to the lake ! Tomorrow I am going to take the bus to go shopping in another town and walk all the time I am there up and down the streets , Just hope I dont stop for Indian food lol.

How was everyone's weekend? I spent all day Saturday outside. Since the weather was so great I was in an active mood. I walked my dog, jogged, rode my boyfriend's bike real quick, and played tennis with a friend. I just input all the exercise in this morning and found that I burned 1000+ calories on Saturday! An hour of tennis alone burned 700 calories. I recommend it. It's fairly cheap. I got a racket for $14 and a giant bag of balls for $6. My friend and I found a tennis court in a park and played for free. So for $20, you're pretty much set for summer exercise.

Hope everyone's lifestyle changes are going well!

Scale hasn't really budged, but I've lost inches and I've been getting in a lot of activity. So I'm not really worried about it. My new summer dress is supposed to arrive in the mail this weekend. I'm excited to try it on. Since I've been losing weight I ordered it a size too small. So, we'll see how much I have to lose to fit it. Normally I wouldn't do this because in the past I've ended up with many goal clothes that didn't fit. But this time I went with just one size smaller. It's something I'll be able to fit into by the time it really gets warm.

25lbs was the original goal. The BMI calculator says I basically should be around 150-145 to be in the mid normal weight category, but I have only made it down to 151 in my adult life at my lowest weight. I need to lose about 15 to make it there again. I would be super ecstatic with that weight. This time I want to MAINTAIN it when I get there.

Good start to a plan where you will keep yourself accountable. You can do it, but don't be discouraged if you're not exactly there at that point. Be happy that you're taking care of you and feeling better. I've been working on it since Feb 25 and I'm pushing to hit the 20 lb mark...still working to get the last couple lbs off, but I continue to work at it every day!

Chopper I am feeling your pain ! My scale first does not work correctly it keeps going up and down by pounds lol and I know I didnt lose anything ! grrr . We can't give up thats all just keep trying and eventually it will come off . ! SMARVYGAL Good advice, I found a pair of goal pants just a size too small and also going to measure myself something I havent done ! I have been working crazy hours , not logging on exercise or food but tracking it in my journal , Good Luck everyone !

Listen I gained last week and this week I am down 4 pounds so you cannot always go by weight. Look at inches, feel your energy level, look how great you look in your clothes. Check your food to make sure you are not eating too much sodium. Muscle weighs more than fat. Good luck and keep being healthy and active!

Frustrated today! The scale won't budge!! I have decided that, after April, I am not going to weigh myself again until the end of May. My friend is also frustrated with the scale and is going to do this as well. I don't know if I can hold off that long, but am going to give it my best try!!

Great to see some more new people ! I went up a half a pound this week , Not doing so great But worked out a lot today . Its been a very stressful week working long hours and being tired ! Last week kind of caught me off guard but this week bringing snacks and making sure if I am tired and my blood sugar is running low to keep the snacks low cal and healthy and AROUND Me ! Working in a kitchen with great food is temptation that I can usually resist but being tired I just want to cram something in my mouth so bringing own snacks this week , I really had gained 4 pounds lol But I worked it off until I am now only a half up * pats myself on the back*
I am not sure if I can lose the 20 before June 15 or 21 which ever date we have lol. But I know after this week work gets really slow and thats when I can focus on the exercise that I really need to get the weight off, Good luck everyone ! I hope we can all run around bikini clad this summer just like in Beach Blanket Bingo ! lol.

Today is Day 51 of P90x for me. My weight is not budging and remains at 215. I feel much better, my jeans are slightly looser, my clothes feel better in general, and I am not as flabby or bloated feeling. These are the reasons I am continuing on this program. I have not been following a very good diet, though, and have not been tracking my food lately. I realize I will have to get back on that wagon if I am going to lose weight!

This is a great idea! I've been wanting to loss weight but couldn't keep myself motivated :( I just finished my first week of insanity and gained 4 pounds! It got me upset to know that I've been working so hard an ended up gaining weight but after doing some research I guess it's normal to gain weight at first so I'll stick with it!

I've been looking for a summer challenge. Now that we got a few good days in Michigan, all I can think of is summer. I even bought a new summer dress yesterday because I'm so excited.

I'm going to give myself until June 21, because that's the first day of summer. My goal is to lose 15lbs from now until the first day of summer.

Welcome back Nea ! I have been working like 12 hours per day and have not been tracking and of course no time for formal exercise but I am getting a grip on myself and thinking I can bring snacks and not take every temptation that the chef lay out for me ! lol and also work in some stretching or quick marching steps in between , The scale went upwards I cant let that happen grrr ! I weigh 89kg, i need to lose about a stone by mid June, just started back on sparkpeople this week after a 2 month break(i didnt put anything on in that time-so well impressed)

time to get busy losing the weight if I want to succeed
I will work on not gaining today and tomorrow a birthday party tomorrow
then on Thursday I plan on staying on plan of losing.

Good morning from cold snowy Canada!

I am wanting to loose at least 20 more pounds before summer, and us waking up to another blizzard is definitely spoiling me with more time to do it! I started my weight loss at 215lbs and now I'm at 170lbs and I'm having a hard time getting over this plateau! any suggestions?

I feel like I am extremely good one week, and then falter the next. I was good last week but still didn't see a loss. I am determined not to let this week get off track, and I started the Spring into Summer Bootcamp challenge.

SW March 25: 223
GW: 199...we'll see. I know this is more than 20 lbs, but I gained a bit on my vacation that I am hoping will go away quickly, and it is easier for me to work towards that under 200 goal
Apr 1: 221
Apr 8: 221 - no change...work harder this week!!!!!
Apr 15: 221 - started strength training, which I KNOW is the key!
