I think you hit the nail on the head. My husband enjoys food but he is blessed to have the kind of personality that is content in whatever situation he finds himself in life. He accepts his lot and chooses not to let it get him down. Food is just a means to satisfy his hunger and enjoyment to his taste buds. For me it is often a means to contentment as you said. I've yearned to be like my husband but never seem to get there no matter how much prayer or determination I put into it. Just this morning I was praying and thinking about how I'm different than most people I know, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. God made me with a pioneering spirit that always seeks new ground to overtake. I need to stop making excuses and overcome my fears in order to be who I really was created to be. When we live on purpose and with a purpose, we don't have time to sit around and think about what we don't have. I believe we should get help to overcome any serious past issues that are keeping us from moving forward, but after that, we should get over our fears and can't-do mind sets & pursue what we truly desire inside. Investing in something greater than ourselves is often the pathway to contentment.

Thanks for your reply, it couldn't have come at a better time.

Thanks for the tip.

I crave the "fulll feeling" a lot when I am not really hungry. For me, I think that craving is linked to my emotional eating. It seems related to the desire to feel satisfied and content.

I don't know what to do about it ... but it's a good thing to have some insight it.

I was reading an old planner entry from when I started with SparkPeople where I'd written about my discovery of the difference between a craving for a "full feeling" rather than actually being hungry.

Also, eating a lot of white flour foods like rice, pasta, Italian bread, white bread, cakes, cookies, increases cravings for a full feeling. When I eliminate these I feel the cravings for the first 4 days the strongest, but the cravings drastically decrease after 1 week and after 2 weeks I don't have them anymore.

I hope this tip helps.
