First weigh in since starting and I am already feeling discouraged. Gained .3. I know that's not a lot but I've been struggling with my weight so long that I know the first week weight loss is usually due to water weight loss. I didn't even get that! I just feel so bloated after I eat and when I wake my fingers are always swollen like I am retaining water. Anyone know what it could be or what I could try eating or not eating? I lost my entire thyroid to cancer years ago and I have been struggling ever since. But to gain 6 pounds in one month something is going on

Just joined on Sunday. Starting weight 3-23-15 was 171.7. After tracking my food the first day I see I need to eat more fiber. So that's my goal for the day

I've had a bad week and it shows on the scale. But I am taking Monday off, giving me a 3-day weekend that I am using to "re-boot" my nutritional plan. I have strayed from my "lower" carb lifestyle and need to get back on track. So I am staying very low carb this weekend and hoping that jump-starts my efforts to get back on track.

Argghhhh! I had a horrible week -- with lots of conflict at work -- very messy situation among co-workers. That led to a lot of "comfort eating." I've gained almost 2 pounds in the last couple of weeks! I can't believe I have done that to myself just when I was starting to lose again.

Oops! I've been back-sliding a little the last 2 weeks. We've had really cold weather and snow that has stimulated my appetite (for comfort foods) and decreased my inclination to exercise. I need to turn this around before it gets totally out of control.

I've basically stayed the same this week. I wish I had lost some ... but with all the super cold weather stimulating my appetite, "staying the same" is not all that bad. I just need to do a little better this coming week and end the month with a definite loss.

Uh oh ... Up .4 this week. That's disappointing. I have only lost 1 pound this month, but at least I have lost a little. If I lose a little every month, that will allow me to finally reach my goal. It's just taking longer than I would like it to.

I find maintenance to be just as hard, if not harder, than losing.

I have 150 pounds to lose. I have 152 weeks until I turn 50. Coincidence? I think it's perfect. A pound a week, with a little wiggle room.

Oh, no! Up .6 this week -- and I was doing so well this month! I did eat a little too much this week ... but there is a chance that some of it is water weight. I've been eating some salty foods over the past couple of days -- so I am hopeful that some of this comes right off when that salt is out of my system. I have my fingers crossed.

I'm really happy with my progress so far this year. On 1/1, I was 165. Today, I am 163. That's 2 full pounds in only 17 days. For me, that's great. I would LOVE to lose another pound by the end of the month.

I see other people having some success, too. Let's keep up the good work!

I gained 9 lbs from about Aug 2014 to Dec. and had to go (thrift) shopping for bigger pants. No fun. I WILL take off 20 pounds this new year then assess a good weight for me.

2014 was a horrible year for me. I gained 11.2 pounds last year! I need to do better this year.

Bad week. The weather got cooler and my appetite sky-rocketed. I was hungry all week and gained almost a pound. That is what happened to me last winter. I need to find a solution to that problem.

10/10/06= 203 (Lost 40, but re-regained most of it due to illness, injury, & weak character)
10/9 2010 = 192 (Joined SparkPeople. Got down to 177, but re-gained yet again.)
1/1/12 = 186 (Got my thryoid under control and had a great 2012. Lost 28 pounds!)
1/5/13 = 158.4

1/3/14 = 153.2
2/1/14 = 155.4
3/1/14 = 155.4 (Not as bad as it appears. New scale weighs heavier than the old one.)

OK ... I lost .6 this week now that I am getting back into my normal routine after vacation. Not great, but I'm OK with. I just need to keep it up.
