Hey girls:

Judy - sounds like you are still making a good effort and putting the work in. I think we all just kind of collapsed. I know I just seemed to give up. We all hung in there for so long, I hate to think it is over now. I am still keeping up the physical portion of this pretty well but over the last year I just let all the things happening in my life take over and quit tracking my intake consistently. Not happy about it but admit it openly. Trying to refocus my life and take charge again. Hope to see some results in energy level and clothing fit soon.

Hi Girls!
Hope all is well with you both. Crazy times here but now that jury duty is over I hope to get back on track. We found for the plaintive and gave him 8.7 million dollars. No kidding. Wish I got a percentage of that.

I have been back on track now more than I have been in a while, but there is still room for improvement.

Well take care and have a happy 4th!
Judy

Hi Girls!

Well not much new here. I have been exercising each day to varying degrees and trying to eat right but that is a struggle. Although I had my yearly physical and the blood work looked good but shows that I an getting a bit close to pre-diabetes. Not there yet but closer than I EVER wanted to be. So that is now my motivation. I don't want to wind up like my parents with all their health issues and many of them are due to the diabetes. So I am going to keep that as my motivation.

Erin- Sounds like you are back on track and being very good with eating and exercising. Good for you. Keep up the good work.

Ginny- So sorry for the other loss in your family and the difficulties that other family members are having. Stay strong and try not to eat your way through because if you are like me I do that and then just have one more thing to feel miserable about.

Well Jury Duty ended this week but due to our verdict we now have to come back for ANOTHER hearing ( I have never heard of this happening). Due to our findings this allows the plaintiff to do something else so we have to go back three more days. This will be week six. We haven't had to go each day but when this is done it will be a total of 18 days. Crazy!!

Well it is time to go to bed so I can get up and go to the gym.

See you later my friends!!
Judy

Hi girls:

I am slowly getting back to exercising a bit. Tues push mowed 2 hrs and walked 75 min. Wed walked 75 min and worked around house for couple of hours, today walked 40 min and did yard work for 3 hrs. Still fighting a cough and lungs get really tight- have been using inhaler several times a day - have not had to use it for probably a year. I seem to still fight the eating portion of my plan -cannot stop - poorly motivated to practice portion control and calorie control.

Hey girls:

Erin - it sounds like you are re-motivated and glad you are already seeing results of your hard work. Sometimes it helps to get a little momentum going on your own first. After all even though it is great to get support and motivation from others it is up to us to do the work. It has to be what you want for yourself. The support of others is just an additional perk.

Judy - jury duty and back pain is definitely no picnic. Come back and post when you can.

I think my whole last week has been pretty much a mess. I stayed pretty sick for 7 days even with an antibiotic and some steroids. Some bronchitis issues always come along for the ride when I get a cold. My lungs no longer hurt so that is a major plus. I was able to go out and walk yesterday for an hr without too much problem. This weekend I had a wedding on Sat and a graduation party today. Most of the day was spent in travel time, 7 hrs on the road today and 4 saturday. Very exhausting. Spent last 2 nights at one of my sister's houses since her family was gone for the weekend. Had a wonderful time with her, did well without eating but did have a margarita each night to relax. I tried to make good choices with my food at the events and stick with the healthier options. Found out this week that my best friend's husband (who is also a good friend) lymhoma has started to grow rapidly and is wrapping around his kidneys and he is being scheduled for at least 6 months of chemo. Hit me pretty hard, too close after my sister's death. Add to that have found out of the last couple of days that a nephew and his wife are divorcing. I got pretty close to his wife while I was helping my sister with her cancer. I found out she had a sudden violent episode and had to be arrested for attacking my nephew in front of their 3 little kids, etc etc. Needless to say today after I came home I found myself grazing and comfort fooding! Got to break that cycle. I cannot medicate with food any longer. A new week has begun and I will not let this be another wasted week.

Hi Ladies,

apologies too for my absence. it seems i just needed some time to re-focus on my goals and gain a little momentum on my own. actually doing quite well on the heath front, at least for the last few days which is a great start. easing up a bit on what i do for exercise and all my healthy habits. main things for me right now are to track my food and do some sort of exercise that i enjoy and gets my heart rate up each day. so far its working out well and i'm already seeing/feeling the results of my hard work. now i just need to keep it up!

Judy,
month long jury duty?! yuck. that along with the injured back doesn't sound like a fun month. however, these things do happen and can't keep us from working towards our goals. focus on tracking your food and staying within your points/range. slow progress is still better than no progress.

Ginny,
first of all, i'm sorry to hear you've had another loss in your family. i know it must be so difficult after the loss of your sister and you have my greatest sympathies. add to that you haven't been feeling well and it sounds like you haven't had a great month either. i do hope that you are feeling better now.

have a great night ladies and a lovely week!

Walked 90 min today. Spent most of the day at the doctors office - had referral to a dermatologist for a bizarre red lacy looking discoloration covering my entire left thigh and hip-been there quite a while waiting for this appointment. It was decided it was an autoimmune response to my lupus, will probably be a permanent decoration on my leg. Kind of a bizarre version of Reynauds (spelling?) disease. It looks crazy but does not itch, burn, hurt, etc and is pretty harmless. He said it is caused by spasms in the vessels but usually does not lead to blood clots so there is nothing that can be done about it unless it starts to cause ulceration. Normally if it happens it is on both legs and below the knee but I am just special I guess. He told me to also start using Neutragena helioplex, spf 100 because my lupus makes my skin so sensitive to the sun and tends to get rashes. I put some on before my walk and ended up with a horrible sunburn on my face with it on which usually does not happen. I am just a freak. Otherwise I did fairly well on calories. Tried to get more water in. Need to find my will power!

Hey there:

Erin - hope you have had great time away and come back ready to kick butt. I would love to be able to switch some of our weather with yours....we went from hanging around 90 degrees to a high in the 50's, pouring rain and wind for about a week. Today was the first sunny fairly warm day we have had recently. Supposed to be back in the 80's this week I think. It has been so hard to make myself stay active when it is just cold and monsoons.

I did get out a couple of days and walked in the rain when it had slowed down to a drizzle just to get out of the house and get some fresh air. Also got in about 5 hours total heavy yard work and a couple hours of mowing as the sun popped out for short periods. I wish I could say I have done amazing on my eating but sadly I have not been as good as I would have liked. Had a death in my family (cousin who committed suicide) and it meant a day traveling and then eating out - I tried to make good choices but I know even at that I definitely was not under range. I think it just once again kicked up some memories of my sister and I turned into a comfort eater again. I must stop the madness and quit self medicating with food. It is a new week and time to make better choices.

Hello,

omg, it is so hot! the a/c went out at work today so i was sweating it out in 80 degree temperatures indoors. its that kind of hot where i just do not want to do anything which isn't an option as i need to pack for my trip tonight. eating has been good today, exercise not so much. my stomach isn't happy with all the HIIT workouts of the past few days so time to take a breather. hopefully it'll get better with this break over the long weekend for me.

i won't be back for a few days so have a lovely weekend and stay healthy!

Good Evening,

Ginny,
Great job on staying in range these last two days and keeping busy. boredom eating can be such a downfall and you prevented that while also burning calories planting your yard. keep up the great work! we are SO making this happen!

work-wise today was no bueno. long, stressful and not over soon enough. however, it is now over and i'm already feeling much better. eating has been really good which wasn't very difficult as i barely had time for a break in the first place. about to do my day 3 workout and my legs are dreading it. however, my mind is looking forward to it as a de-stressor so that is a really good sign.

i leave for CO in 2 days for my friends college graduation and i cannot wait to leave town for a few days and see my bestie. it is exactly what i need right now.

have a good one!

Hi:

It has been a pretty good day - been storming off and on for past 48 hours and it keeps shutting down my internet and cable. So gonna try to get this in while it is still working. Have stayed within range for the past 2 days. Find myself just wanting to eat constantly and have to stay busy to avoid eating which is not a bad thing. Yesterday worked 7 hours and came home wiped out and did not do much exercise once I got home. Today I worked in yard for 2 hours this morning, digging, transplanting flowers, carrying more dirt, etc and then push mowed for 2 hours. Will do my arm exercises tonight still.

Erin - yes, I want to be shoved out of my complacency. I have got to get this weight off and be healthier. I will follow suite and restart all my goals. FRESH START! We are going to do this, we need to do this, we deserve to live healthier lifes and shed these pounds.

Hello,

Ginny,
Don't get too down about not eating in range this weekend. one of the hardest things is to not eat when you don't feel great and can't be physically active. at least you weren't stuffing your mouth with really junky food so at least there is that. hopefully things turn around for you soon.

had a pretty good day. decided yesterday to re-set all of my SP goals and start completely fresh (again). going to track like crazy and keep checking in to the website just so that i don't forget all my reasons for doing this. Ginny, i will definitely shove back if you really want to do this. i know i'm tired of saying i'm gonna do it and then promptly forgetting as soon as a cookie passes by. time for a change and i am the only one who can make it and make it stick.

good night!

The weekend is over now and I have to challenge myself to get my self back in gear. After bragging I ate within range for 2 days in a row and stocked up on healthy foods, I felt like I hit a major roadblock. My body just could not go and I pretty much laid around all day Sat and Sun. It was stormy/rainy/gloomy 2/3 of the time and it matched my mood. I absolutely could not make myself move. My bones and joints and muscles were in rebellion. My knees were swollen and I was already laying around but then I gave into cravings and just ate too much. Not unhealthy choices but just ate too much and did not practice great portion control. Going to try to change directions and do what I need to do. Got to get moving again slowly and track, track, track every bite that I put into my mouth.

Erin - I will push you if you will shove back. We could probably still drop 5 lb by June 1 if we put our hearts into it. (or 3-5 since it is half way thru the month now.) I absolutely hate to admit to myself or others when I have to go up a size. For some reason I have not had to do that yet in spite of not having followed my plan now for months, which I give credit to the amount of exercise I have accomplished versus my poor eating. Let's do it together.

Happy Mother's Day!

Ginny,
i hope the increase in dosage helps manage the pain better for you with little to no side effects. seems like you've been so busy lately that you haven't had time to deal with your own medical concerns. glad to hear the blood work still looks good. great job on staying in range two days in a row! huge accomplishment!!!

on the exercise front, i am doing great. starting the 30 day shred by jillian michaels again and day 1 felt good in a painful sort of way. as for eating, not so healthy. took my mom ate to eat and she wanted chili dogs then had burritos and pie for dinner. positively delicious but not healthy or low cal at all. hopefully, my new workout challenge along with getting my habits in will help with the overeating. i am really getting straight up fat at this point and have already had to buy bigger clothes so that i have something to wear beside jeans and a baggie sweatshirt. totally unacceptable so time to get my butt in gear.

hope you all have a great week!

Made today a rest day which I definitely needed. It was raining anyway and I could not do much outside. I did do well on my eating though which makes it 2 in a row. Slow and steady, right? Had my doctor's appointment with my rheumatologist this morning. He upped my methotrexate which was my latest drug added - which is a low dosage of a chemo drug meant to slow down the destruction of my joints. Hoping it will start showing some effectiveness with the increased dosage. He has ordered some x-rays on my cervical spine since I am having lots of pain in my neck and stiffness and popping. All my blood work looked great which is a relief since all the pills I am on can cause major liver problems. So all in all it was a good visit. Went shopping in the afternoon - had $10 free money from both Penneys and Kohls. Hate to waste those - Ended up with a pair of shorts for my walks and t-shirt. Went to grocery store and got lots of healthy foods.

Have a great weekend.

Hey there:

I hear ya, Erin, fake it til you make it or whatever it takes. I wish I had some really inspiring thing to say to get you motivated to stay in range. As you know, that is not my strong point right now. We will just sweat our butts off for now and hope the other component comes back to us. When I read your post, I had to laugh because my shorts were a bit uncomfortable tonight when I was eating dinner and since I live alone, I just unzipped a bit and went on eating! But I have to say today was my best day eating wise for a long time. I am definitely a little bit below range.

I was pretty active again today and definitely was sweating bullets. It seems like heat just suddenly comes out of no where in the spring in Indiana. One week it is cold and rainy and the next it is in the high 80's with intense sun. I finished my push mowing today - Mowed about 75 min. Then did more of my carrying of the 40 pound bags of soil and about 3 hrs of heavy yard work. I can certainly tell my yard was pretty much just kept status quo last year when I was mostly staying at my sisters. I am starting to get it under control. By late evening I was definitely feeling physically exhausted and my joints were giving me fits. Got to visit the rheumatologist tomorrow and hoping he can up my meds a little bit to get me over some increased inflammation I have had for the past couple of months. I am not letting it stop me but it is still pretty miserable. Got a new leg brace today so I will get more support there hopefully. I think since my sister's death I have found myself forcing myself to be more active and not give into the pain and in a way that is a good thing but pain is usually there for a reason to tell us something is wrong. Got to find the balance.

Good Evening,

Ginny,
ok, first of all, who the heck thinks its ok to STEAL someone else's flowers?! seriously, i just do not get that at all. i know you probably don't want a confrontation but maybe you should write them a letter and leave it in their door or something because that is just unacceptable. moving away from that, great job on staying active! if you can't keep your eating in check right now then at least you are off setting some of the damage by burning calories. you will get back to where you want to be, it will just take time and persistence.

i cannot wait for this work week to be over. quite literally feel like i'm banging my head against a wall, or like today, against a cabinet which hurt like a mo-fo! add to that, my jeans feel super tight and motivation to stay in range is really low. gonna try and turn it around by upping the sweat factor but its gonna have to be one of those fake it until you make it deals because my heart just isn't into it right now.

good night girls!

Hey girls:

Sorry I am having trouble getting back into the groove of posting --- oddly enough I do read thru the posts if not daily then every couple of days. Kind of ashamed of myself for not getting back on track with my food component but that is old news and since I know what is holding me back from that I am not going to beat myself too much. I am doing well with exercise. As a matter of fact I am physically exhausted. I have not been walking every day this week but have mostly every 2 days or 2 on 1 off. Doing some major yard work. Discovered with all the time I was gone this past year or more that apparently someone or someones decided that my flowers are their flowers. Even as recently as the last 2 weeks flowers just disappearing like magic! My hostas, irises, a butterfly bush, tulips, lillies, etc have all just walked off and in their places are large holes that have been dug but not filled in so as I walk in my yard or flower bed there are big craters. I should not point the finger at any one but oddly enough I look to my next door neighbors house and there is a brand new row of irises, hostas and lillys! They are a young couple who came over last fall and told me the person they brought their house from told them they could help themselves to anything in my yard! NO and NO! And I made that clear but obviously it did not matter. Anyway now that I have vented, it has left me with hours of work and expenses buying soil and hefting bags and filling in holes, etc. So I am burning tons of calories. Today I walked 70 min, push mowed 1 hr, loaded and unloaded 10 40 lb bags of soil and then toted them around my yard and emptied them! Add to that prepped beds and planted flowers! Sadly, while out picking up supplies and fuming....I caved and got a whopper junior combo----ate the burger and thankfully the fries were so salty I ate one and tossed the rest. Sometimes the diet Gods look out for us and make food inedible when our willpower is weak! Otherwise have made some improvement the last 5 days trying to eat less and healthier and drinking more water again.

Erin - your trip sounds great. I am not much of a wine drinker either but the company and time away relaxing are priceless. I am convinced the 4 lbs will come off pretty fast now that you are back into your regular routine and exercise.

Judy - same to you. We get away from our schedule and eat things we do not normally eat. That is part of being on vacation. You will get back into your workout warrior mode and it will come back off.

NANAAHLGRIM - welcome and hope you come back. Regardless best of luck with your weight loss program.

Hi Girls!

so i am back from my wine tasting trip and it was so much fun!!!! great company, great food, beautiful scenery. i'm not really a big wine drinker so i was the designated driver which was actually really nice as it meant i got to see the countryside best in the driver's seat and i loved that. ate terribly and am up 4 lbs this week :( trying to shake that and get back on track. today at work we had a cinco de mayo celebration (late i know, but we always celebrate on wednesdays). i made salsa for the salsa contest and it was a pretty big hit. we also had a free lunch that was super yummy. then after work i went on a short hike with a coworker and then out to dinner. proud of myself for only eating half of my order and saving the other half for lunch tomorrow. so easily could have thrown the day away but i made smarter choices which is a sign of progress.

Judy,
i hope you at least enjoyed yourself while visiting your family and eating like crap! just get back on track and start each day fresh.

NANAAHLGRIM,
welcome! sounds like you have plenty of reasons to get healthy and in shape so remember those as you take strides towards your healthier self. look forward to hearing from you again!

time for bed ladies. hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow!

Hi All,
Got back from my trip to Alabama to visit my in laws and then it was back to work. I ate like crap and the scale showed a 4 lb. gain. But I am not back on track.

Have to go to bed now but will try to catch up in the next couple of days.

Take care!
Judy

Hello girls. I started the Skinny Jeans Challenge yesterday. I do need the motivation everyday. I did a eating program a couple of years ago and lost 30 lbs in 18 weeks. Got cocky and went back to the way I was eating before and gained the weight back. I need to lose weight I am 215 lb. I am so upset with myself. I have a special needs child, he is high functioning but I still want to be here for him as long as can. I also have a grandson. Also lost my mom 5 years ago and need to be here for my dad.

Gonna do a 5k walk today for breast cancer. Will come back later. Good luck today. Talk to you later.

Good Evening,

Ginny,
ugh, that flight sounds horrible! my stomach would have rebelled too although i'm not so sure i would've been able to keep my cookies down. glad you are feeling better now and hopefully clear of that contagious disease. getting all that exercise in must be doing wonders for your body. i know your eating isn't where you want it to be but remember, baby steps. i say pick a small goal and work towards that and slowly build yourself back up to where you want to be.

i am off for my four day weekend and i am so excited! the weather is nice and hot right now, perfect for a weekend getaway. my eating has been good today and despite a vacation weekend i will still try my best to practice moderation and portion control. also feeling my long night's rest last night did the trick so that my body could fight off whatever was trying to bring me down. last thing i want is to get sick right before a trip.

anyways, off to go on my walk and finish my habits.

have a great night girls!

Hey girls:

Erin - I am so happy for you that you are a full time employee. Even happier that you seem to be back in full mojo mode and getting your healthy habits in and checking in frequently. Four day weekend and wine tasting camping trip - sounds heavenly! Enjoy!

I am back home. Had the roughest flight I ever had! The last 40 min of the flight was rain storms apparently and the plane constantly felt like it was dropping and then settling back in with side to side movement. For the first time ever flying (which I am not a happy camper and scared the entire time anyway) I was getting dizzy and nauseated. Thank God someone picked me up at the airport because I could not have drove home. I laid in bed for the next 36 hrs just unable to shed that dizziness. Today I was able to get up and function much better. I got in 2 hrs of push mowing. It has rained every day for the last week or more and my grass was about a foot tall. I also got in a 75 min walk. Unfortunately my new determination to move does not include a new determination to keep my calories in range and today I ate nonstop. I am so ashamed and feel so gross. I just cannot wrap my brain back around getting my eating under control.

Doing well today although i'm starting to feel like this cold is trying to make a comeback. gonna take it easy today and go to bed early since sleep really is the best thing most times. eating is good and in range. no exercise but i was running around work which feels like i logged a couple of miles from that alone. only one more day until my four day weekend and wine tasting camping trip. really excited to get away for a bit and decompress.

hope everyone is well!

Hello,
had a pretty fun day today. took my two older nieces out for the day and we went to a place where you can paint little knickknacks, make stuffed animals and run around in a maze. so much fun watching them be so silly. then we went out to lunch and then to mcdonalds so they could get cookies and play in the fun house area. i love how easy it is to make them so happy. my eating was not very healthy while out but i'm trying my best to get right back on track now that its over. really hard to make that decision when the urge to just munch the afternoon away is so strong. one of my favorite healthy quotes is that one bad meal doesn't make for a bad day just as one healthy meal doesn't make for a healthy day. gotta make the right choices more often than not and not let the wrong choices multiply. so far i'm doing good and that is all i ask of myself.

good night!

Good Evening,

Franni,
congrats on the loss!!! you are very close to getting out of the 130's and i'm sure you'll be able to achieve that psychological win next week. hope you were able to get out for some exercise today.

Ginny,
wow, you've been a busy bee. i've heard of that illness but haven't known anyone who's actually had it. doesn't sound like much and i sincerely hope you are able to stay healthy after dealing with all of those sick family members. although not for the happiest of circumstances, i bet it was nice to see your kids and grandkids. seems like just yesterday that your daughter was pregnant. crazy what can happen in a year.

had a pretty good day. did some grocery shopping and then went to an arts and crafts fair at the local park. we live super close so we walked down. i got some really cute earrings and hair accessories and managed to stay clear of all the food trucks. then we went to my uncle's birthday party. i had a really nice time hanging out with all my family. ate quite a bit too much but at least i was good the rest of the day and for me that is a big win.

totally ready to hit the sack now. good night!

I just typed and lost my response - hate when that happens.

Franni - congrats on the 2 lb loss. That is a definite win and you should be proud.

Erin - it sounds like the diet gods have indeed conspired to help you with your choices at the restaurant. Take any help you can get. Enjoy your birthday parties this weekend and try to make some time for jammy time!

I am at my daughter's in Orlando. I got an SOS call on Easter evening asking me to fly out the next morning at 7 am to help them out. At that time both boys were sick and unable to go to daycare. The whole family is scheduled to leave this coming Monday for a Disney cruise and my daughter and son-in-law did not want to miss work this week. Turns out both boys (and then my son-in-Law) had something I was unfamiliar with. They have hand-foot and mouth disease which is a virus. For them started out with temp of 103 for a couple days and then a rash on hands and feet and in throat. The youngest who just turned 1 seemed to recover quickest. The 4 year old was very sick and also had a cough with his. The son-in-law just mainly had throat lesions and the fever. I am exhausted and feel like I have a bulls eye on my back for developing this illness. I scrubbed down every surface in their house with clorox and lysoled everything I could not scrub. It is a very contagious illness that I guess passes quickly thru day cares and schools. I forgot how active a 1 year old is. I have not got a chance to really do any workouts but have chased that hyperactive like fellow all over the house. I have run up the stairs and back down probably 50 times a day not to mention picking up the little guy a million times a day so I feel pretty good about burning calories. I have done pretty well with my calories so I think I will come out of this week at least maintaining. Tomorrow hope to get some free time to run over to where my son lives about an hr away from Orlando and visit him and the restaurant he co-owns now. Loving spending time with my family this week but it has been so tiring looking forward to relaxing a bit tomorrow and sunday before I fly back out at 7 am again on Monday. Have a great weekend.

Happy Friday, Erin!

Great job on the eating. Sometimes the universe conspires to help us out...;)

I was really hoping to get in some exercise today but the morning and the evening didn't work out. I plan to make it up tomorrow with some yoga. We might even go bowling if the weather is bad as we expect some rain here in the northeast. I was really hoping to do some tennis (or more like running after the ball that has fallen out of bounds...LOL). Maybe on Sunday.

Forgot to check in earlier that the weigh in didn't turn out bad. I lost 2 lbs. I was really hoping to crack the 130s. It's a psychological win but I didn't get it this time. So maybe this week.

Have a great and healthy weekend everyone!

Happy Friday!

oh man, i am so glad it is the weekend! the weather is getting pretty stormy and all i wanted to do today was snuggle up in jammies and NOT be at work. finally off now and have a pretty fun weekend planned. going to my uncle's birthday party tomorrow and then taking my 6 yr old niece out to celebrate her birthday on sunday before going bowling. not sure what we are going to do but i know it will be a lot of fun and i'm really looking forward to a one-on-one day with her.

as for eating, today i'm doing really well. went out to dinner last night and wound up doing better than my choices would have allowed for. i ordered chili and sweet potato fries thinking the chili would be a healthier option and the fries because i couldn't resist. turns out the chili was not so good and super fatty so i only really had the fries for dinner which isn't terrible all things considered. then i gave in to the temptation of dessert but it turns out they were out of what i wanted and the waitress forgot to bring me my backup choice. obviously the healthy gods were doing me a favor by denying me my dessert so that my evening really wasn't as much of a calorie bomb as it should have been.

once again, i'm feeling good and on track so now i just have to keep my momentum going.

good night ladies!

Hi!

Franni,
i've always wanted to try hot yoga! it sounds nice and sweaty but at the same time i'm afraid i'd start slipping all over my mat. i hope your WI went well today. i know the feeling of needing to see results on the scale to feel like this whole business is really worth it. i have a quote pinned on my motivational board that says "even if you don't see results, there is NO reason to stop". that really is the truth because we should all be striving for healthiness. in addition, you will never see results if you stop trying. remember that the body might need a little time to recover from all that exercise you are doing so be patient and keep at it and the results will show eventually.

Today was a pretty good day for me. a bit boring at work but i got a fair amount of stressful stuff finished so i feel much better about my workload. eating is on track and in range. habits are in progress and i'm about to do my pilates workout. i'm going out to eat tomorrow night to celebrate a few work birthdays so that will be a challenge. i already found a healthy option on the menu so now i just need to actually order it and not some calorie bomb which i've been known to do. no matter what, moderation moderation moderation!

good night!

Erin & Ginny - Thanks for the encouragement. I really need it.

I've come to realize that this is going to need to be a way of life, a lifestyle change. I know, I know....everyone knows that. For the first time, I am not prepping for a "date" or bikini season or anything. I just really need to get healthy. I want to feel strong.

I did some hot yoga today. It was really challenging but great. There were exercises/postures that were slightly out of my reach but that only made me more interested. I have a first month free pass to the Yoga studio. If i'm sustain the page, maybe I'll sign up for 10 classes.

I'm a little afraid. I have to do my weigh-in tomorrow. The scale has not moved much for me despite my dieting. I've only seriously added exercise last week. I am nervous that without any tangible results on the scale, I might just binge. I've been able to control the desire to just give up but I am hoping tomorrow would be great.

Good Evening,

Judy,
have a good time in Alabama! when i think of that state i just think of really fattening food for some reason. remember to just eat slowly and stop when full. i think if we can prevent stuffing ourselves that would do a lot of good.

i have been much healthier today. it helps that i had work but that doesn't always mean i can stay on track so many pats on the back to me for staying strong. i've realized that i'm doing something i'm really good at which is procrastinating along my way towards my weight loss goal. its always tomorrow and never right now and that has to stop or i'll never get there. all day today, each time a bad thought has entered i counter it with a "stop wasting time". reminds me that each time i make a bad choice, my goals will take that much longer to accomplish.

have a great night!

Hi Ladies,

You two are funny remembering the Easter Bunny gig. Scot did it two years ago and I did it last year. I was going to do it this year but with my back Scot was the back up bunny. HOWEVER the outfit was too small/short for him so we had a neighbor of my sister's fill in. So maybe next year. Ha!

So far I have been doing rather well tracking on SP. BUT I ate a bunch of crap (yummy nonetheless) on Easter. Now I my plan is not to stress about days like this. It happened, can't take it back and back on track the next day.

Ginny- Glad to hear you are making it through and you continue to be in my prayers.

Erin- Glad to hear you had a nice time in Vegas. Good job on keeping up with your good habits. One day at a time and don't beat yourself up.

Well I am going to Alabama with Scot to visit his mom. I KNOW that there will be crazy food there and I will eat what I want just not a ton of it and then buckle down again when I get home.

Have a great Wednesday and I will try to check in again this week.

emoticon

Hello,

did not have a good eating day. sat around watching tv and eating leftovers from yesterday. did a pilates workout and a walk which at least is something. really need to get on top of this motivational business. every day it just seems like my heart isn't in it. stupid since i've been wanting this for longer than i can even remember at this point. at least i will get my habits in today and i know that will help in the long run.

Happy Easter! emoticon emoticon

Franni,
welcome to the group! i hope you find your way back here too and keep up with those workouts. that's a great way to get back into things.

Ginny,
Stop being so tough on yourself. you went through a very difficult and drawn out situation. you need time to work through all of that and find a new normal. life isn't the same anymore, you are allowed time to adjust. and honestly, you are really doing fantastic all things considered. it sounds like your health hasn't suffered much these past few months and i know that with each day you'll just keep getting stronger.

i had a happy easter with a nice chunk of my family over to celebrate and eat dinner. i was not healthy today since i sat around the house all day eating and watching tv. followed that up with too much dinner and dessert and have a stomachache to show for it. did manage to get out for a walk afterwards which helped a lot but i'm really going to have to step up my game this week if i want to see any downward movement on the scale. fortunately, tomorrow is a new day which means another chance to try harder and do better.

good night and sweet dreams!

hi all:

Franni: please feel free to return and check in with us as you can. we need all the support we can get. 3 workouts a week sounds like a good starting point.

Erin - a day on the boat sounds perfect. I love the water - so relaxing. You are doing well keeping up the healthy habits and staying active. It always inspires me to do better when I read all you are doing.

I am still fighting my need to self medicate with comfort food. Sorry, Judy, when I read back thru my post I realized I did sound like I thought I could just will away my grief. Not exactly what i meant but more that I was trying to make myself get active and more focused on myself. I just find myself wanting to do nothing and just lie around. This past week has seemed exceptionally tough but I finished strong today and got out and enjoyed the warm day and sunshine. Push mowed for 1 hr 45 min. It was the second time I mowed this year and unlike previous years I was able both times to mow for the entire time without stopping to rest and was not worn out when I was done!!!! Today I also worked in my yard for another hr. over indulged in food which is not good.

Hope everyone has a great Easter.

Hi Everyone.

I'm re-new with SP (I've been signed up for years but have been MIA recently). I'm determined to get back to fitness and would love some support in keeping my workouts on track.

I want to at least do 3 workouts per week.

I would love to provide motivation/support for anyone else on this path.

Thanks in advance.

Evening Ladies!

well i had a fantastic time at the lake today. the early morning haze burned off and allowed for a perfect first boating trip of the season. my eating has been decent considering one tends to eat a lot when you're just sitting out on the boat. fighting some serious cravings but i am getting through them and most importantly, doing my habits. these healthy actions will strengthen my resolve and make the rest of the night easier which is why i MUST keep doing them. i also got in a seriously sweaty jillian workout so i have a good after burn working in my favor right now.

Hope all is well!

Happy Friday Ladies!

i had such a nice friday off from work. went to the mall and apparently it was a really good day for shopping since i scored a bunch of deals which i wasn't expecting at all. managed to escape without stopping at the food court and then preceded to buy a TON of groceries, most of which were quite healthy. overall, i think i got about three hours of walking in and that combined with some lower body ST and pilates counts for my exercise for the day. super excited to go on the first boating trip of the season tomorrow! it will probably still be pretty cold but i don't care. i just want to float on the water, even in sweats, and let the relaxation take me over.

hope you all are doing well and have a great Easter weekend! Judy, i want to know if Scot dresses as the bunny again :)

Good Evening!

Only one more day until a four day weekend for me!! i had to work monday for a project that i am working on this week and the unintentional benefit is a long weekend over easter. so looking forward to sleeping in and catching up on life as things have built up over the past two weeks. eating was good today. had some candy at work as there was a big easter egg hunt and of course i indulged a bit. nothing too crazy though. working on my habits now and man do i not want to do them. really just want to veg out in bed but i'm not going to allow that until all five habits are done. i am skipping exercise today as that just is too much for me today. baby steps getting back into this right now.

btw, WI was this morning and i am up two pounds to 216. not thrilled with that but i didn't do anything to earn a loss so i'm not surprised. gonna make sure the same can't be said for this week.

hope all is well!

Hi Ladies!

Judy,
ouch! a herniated disc sounds no bueno. don't push it too hard but i'm sure you know what you can and can't do right now. i think switching to tracking on SP is a very smart way of changing up the weight loss game. maybe it will help highlight some unhealthy choices that have been leading to maintenance.

Ginny,
i absolutely detest anything involving taxes and bank statements and what not. my parents have someone do theirs since its more complicated and i use him too since its just easier and less of a hassle. i think coming on here regularly will def. help get you back into a healthy mindset. thats what i need too, so i'll be posting more often as well.

i had a really awesome time in vegas this past weekend. it wound up being a group of 13, all of us coworkers. i'm so lucky to work with people i also consider friends which just made for a fun and relaxing trip. i actually ate really well while there since i didn't want to feel weighed down and gross the whole time. can't say as much for when i got home though. its like as soon as there are no witnesses all healthy efforts vanish. i really haven't been trying much at all this past week so its time for that to change. first things first, habits. tackle that and the rest will be easier.

good night girls!

Hi Girls,

Not much new here. Herniated a disc in my back so I have not worked out in a week. Will try to do ZUMBA tomorrow night, we shall see. I haven't lost any weight or gained any just rather status quo. I am now going to switch it up and track my calories on SP instead of WW points. Maybe just a change up will help.

Ginny- Nice to see you back. Grief is not something you can just decide not to do and move on. Go with the grief as it ebbs and flows, you will have ups and downs and those are all normal. Some days good, some days bad. But as time goes on there will be more good days in between the bad, you will get better, but be sure to be kind to yourself during this process.

Erin- I LOVE VEGAS! Have a great time. Glad to see you got your mojo running again. Who are you going with to VEGAS? Congrats on winning the money for bowling. How fun!

Well I am going to update all my foods in SP with the things I am eating now. I am also going to update my goals and start fresh right NOW!

Take Care Ladies1
Judy

Hi:

I am trying to make myself come back on here more faithfully - so that I become more conscious of what I am eating and doing. I have been told I appear to have lost weight but unfortunately the scale does not confirm this in any way though clothes fit better still. Must be doing something right. Have definitely been a bit more active in last month but eating crap about half the time. It is time I got over that and started living again. Really hard to wrap my head about all that has happened in last year and get back to focusing on myself. I didn't think I was just getting by until I realized last night that I had not filed my taxes or made an appointment to get them done. I have to file itemized and have not filed online for probably 15 years. I got them finished last night at 11pm -- had to call a CPA that handled some estate issues and get a duplicate form from him because I had "put it up in a safe place and promptly lost it" on the form mailed to me in Feb. It caused me to do a quick eval on myself and realize I am just going thru the motions in everything right now and have to get back into life and start paying attention to what is going on. So that is my goal for this week - to start being more self aware and that includes eating better. Hope you are all doing better.

Hello:
Erin - Bowling money? Vegas trip? And a flight booked to CO? Life is looking good for you right now! Enjoy it all...you have been working hard and deserve some fun times.

I am staying pretty active and taking at least a daily walk of 90 min and been getting a major work out at home trying to do some spring cleaning and trying to integrate my some of my sister's furniture and belongings into my house. Burning lots of calories but still not mentally capable of fully committing to eating 100% right and healthy right now. I am inching toward that step but want to be mentally prepared and ready and still have too many emotions occupying my brain right now. I am making good progress.

Hi!

Ginny,
it sounds like you are keeping busy with lots of activity and cooking. i hope you find that cooking for this man and his wife is therapeutic as personally i find cooking to be relaxing and a great distractor. and pooh pooh that 5 lb gain. if that is all the damage you do right now and yet your clothes fit better than i say you are total awesome sauce. there is so much more to being healthy than the number on the scale and you are living it.

well i am very excited to say that i FINALLY won the money at bowling!!!! it felt so amazing and really shows how well i've progressed. plus i did that on a night when i really didn't feel well and just wanted to get out of there. doing better today thankfully. my eating last night took a bit of a nosedive as i always want to eat when my stomach is bothering me. doing much better today and picked up some new healthy snacks to liven things up in the food department without going calorie crazy.

i've got a vegas trip coming up this weekend so i'm getting excited about that plus i just booked a flight to CO for my friends graduation from law school. lots of fun things in the future to look forward to which makes me happy as the anticipation is really half the fun.

have a nice night ladies!

Hello:

Erin - You are certainly getting active! Ride that endorphin high into the strike zone (that is about all I know to say about bowling!) Regardless of a few weak moments, it sounds like for the most part this week you have followed your healthy habits and I hope it pays off for you on the scales.

I have still not made a commitment to myself to get back fully into this process. I am doing well at staying pretty active. Did have a couple of bad days of almost flu like joint and body aches but I think that was probably the lupus showing its ugly head. Laid in bed under my elec blanket and did not move for about 48 hrs. Finally made myself crawl out of bed Sat and go for a 90 min slow walk. Today joints much better - walked twice once for 80 min and then later for about 25 min. I have noticed the scale says I have gained about 5 pounds and yet I have been able to put some clothes back on that had gotten miserable and made me look like a stuffed sausage. So hopefully I have firmed back up a bit and built some muscle? Restarted my little part time job again 2 weeks ago. A friend of the family I do work for recalled me and asked if I would reconsider cooking for their 93 year old father who still lives at home. They had asked me to do this a few months ago while I was committed to helping my sister. They reconsidered and are allowing me to cook at home instead of their house and they come collect it and pay me for the groceries I use and my time. I make a couple of servings each of of 2 main dishes, cookies, muffins, etc and then call them to come get it one day a week. Starting soon they want me to do this 2-3 times a week so he always has something on hand. I think they are planning to bring his 92 year old wife home from the nursing home so I guess I will be cooking for both of them. It is somewhat fun and interesting but since I do not know their likes and dislikes it is kind of challenging. But you know how much I love cooking and baking and it helps to make it and then send it out the door. Unfortunately I find myself doing a lot of tasting, too, while in the cooking process. I will have to limit that before the 5 lbs becomes 10 etc

Have a great week everyone.

Good Evening and Happy Friday!

i am so in need of 3 days off right now. work is about to get really crazy again and i need to relax and get my bearings before diving into all of that chaos. don't have any major plans this weekend. plan on doing some healthy cooking along with lots of exercise. my eating today has been good although high again as they were giving out free food in the afternoon so i ate a bit more on my break that normal. still tracking for the rest of the day though and at least what i hadn't wasn't very unhealthy.

have a good one!

Hello,

Ginny,
good to have you stop by. sounds like its been a rough and hectic month and yet you've still made strides towards being healthy. come up the efforts and come back when you are ready.

i have been very unmotivated lately. with my parents trip out of town and me being home alone with no accountability, i did some serious diet damage. more than the pounds on the scale, i have lost my mojo and have found it very difficult to get it back. of course i know that what i need to do are my habits and so tonight i will make that happen. my eating has actually been pretty good today if we ignore the birthday cake i had in celebration of a coworkers birthday. i kid you not, every week there are sweets around and it is so ridiculous how challenging it is to say no to them. i want to say no but it would be so awkward/rude to do so. oh well, at least it was really yummy cake :)

hope everyone is well! come back and post its been too quiet on here!

Hi everyone:

Just a very quick check in. Not quite ready to fully commit to being back yet. I am exercising daily and staying very busy. Doing lots of traveling back and forth to Indianapolis - about 3 hr drive one way so spending lots of time on the road and not following the healthiest of food plans but trying to make some healthy choices and not just go completely crazy and seek all my comfort from food. It has been a very rough month but I am trying to work thru it. Have got my sister's house pretty much emptied out and things either donated or given to family members she wanted to have her possessions. I am storing 2 of my sisters things that they inherited at my house until they can come retrieve them. When I am home it looks like I am a hoarder and until I get everything put away and decide what I want to keep, etc it is going to be very chaotic. I think most of my running back and forth days are over so I can concentrate now on actually returning some order to my life. There are a lot of estate issues that are going to be more difficult to deal with so that will be an ongoing concern. I hope to take another few days or weeks to get my mind wrapped around all that has transpired in last year and then be able to return strong. It sounds like every one has been making some progress and working hard. Keep up all the hard work and hope that you are all rewarded by the guardian of the scales!

Hi Ladies,

well its been a few days and i can't say i've been super good. my parents went out of town on tuesday and apparently to my brain that signaled total binge time. i suffered greatly for that mistake and have slowly been getting myself back on track all week since. skipped WI on wednesday as i just couldn't bear to see how much i gained after my food fest. today was not easy at all and i haven't been perfect but i've been trying, did all my exercise and am finishing strong. i would really like to be able to step on the scale next wednesday and see a reflection of my hard work not the bad choices i made the day before.

hope everyone else is doing well and staying healthy!

Good Evening!

Judy,
so happy you're back!!! and you've been kicking butt and staying healthy. way to go girl! i'm happy to hear the cruise was nice and hopefully it did wonders in the rest and relaxation department.

Sheri,
best of luck on WI! i'm sure the scale will be kind as long as you've stayed healthy this week. that is great that you are enjoying the new dvd. i love when they have a modification person as i am rarely able to do all of a dvd at the same level as the instructor. 25min is a great time length for a workout too.

just got back from bowling and had a pretty nice time although my bowling skills still suck. ate well today which is saying something as temptation and cravings have been with me all day. forcing myself to finish my habits right now in an effort to build up my willpower. i have a massage scheduled for tomorrow and i'm really looking forward to it. kind of a reward for all my hard work lately and for the permanent job. certainly don't want to taint the experience with a bad night tonight.

well good night girls!

Hi Judy, hope to get to know you better as well. I love cruises we were looking at Alaska but are going on another Disney Cruise with our 7-year-old.

Erin. ..... I am so stooooooked I did it finally I have been procrastinating like 10 bear (where does that saying come from anyway) on the T25 dvd but I did it tonight and I have to say I love the modification gal on it!!! Made it a lot easier to follow and easier to put in the next one. The 25 minutes went fast as well.

Tomorrow is my WI day Oiy!!!! Oh and I ordered a heart rate monitor I have researched them and I think it would be really interesting to see how well it can help with exercise.
Well tomorrow is Monday that day just keeps coming back around doesn't it lol.

Have a great one Ladies.

Hello All,

Most of you don't know me but I am back. I can't believe it's been a month, I would have said two weeks max but the dates don't lie. I have been doing rather well. We went on our cruise and had a great time (Erin, we have already been to Alaska on a cruise and I HIGHLY recommend it!). When we got back I bought a new car. I then hit the group running with my workouts and sticking to my Weight Watchers points. So far so good.

Erin- Congrats on the new job and I also saw how well you are doing on your healthy living. You are an inspiration.

Ginny- I don't have the words so say how sorry I am, you and your family have always been and continue to be in my prayers.

Other ladies, I hope to get to know you more and I plan not on being away so long.

Have a good Sunday!
Judy

Happy Weekend All,

Sheri,
have you tried that new workout? i'm curious to hear if its as difficult as the other dvds.

i'm doing well today. just finished a dvd workout of my own and got nice and sweaty. riding the endorphin high right now which feels lovely. eating is on track and i'm about to have some yummy roasted chicken and vegetables i made. my first time handling a whole raw chicken and having to take the insides out. YUCK! hopefully it was worth it and i have a new healthy recipe to add to my collection.

have a good night!

Hello,

Sheri,
congrats on the loss!keep doing that happy dance, you'll burn more calories :) let me know how you like the new workout dvd. all those other ones are way too tough for me too plus i like ones that are done in less than 30 min.

so i had my WI yesterday and maintained for the week at 215. that was also the due date for my goal and unfortunately i did not reach my goal of 210. i had a bad eating day on monday that i haven't recovered from yet but at least i know i had made a lot of progress this past week and am confident the scale will reflect that next week as long as i stay on track. exercise has been pretty good but habits not so much. been feeling pretty lazy when i get home and that is a recipe for diet disaster so tonight i am getting right back at it and completing all of my healthy habits. i do them for a reason and need to keep doing them even if i forget once in a while why they are so important.

hope you all have a great night!

Hello Ladies,

well its a beautiful sunday here in so-cal. temps are near the 90's and feels so wonderful having my window open with a warm breeze coming in. staying on track today with a walk, pilates and a jillian michaels dvd. officially have trouble sitting down now as my butt and legs are super sore but in such an awesome way. eating has been good and i have no inclination to change that so overall, i'm pretty healthy and happy today. i have bowling in a bit and maybe i'll show some improvement although i kinda doubt it.

have a happy st. patty's day tomorrow! emoticon

Good Evening!

Sheri,
great job on getting all of those steps in! i'll bet your legs are getting nice and toned with all that walking and its good for your stamina too. eating out can be such a challenge since there are so few places that offer low calorie options that don't taste like rabbit food. my suggestion would be to look up the menus of some of your favorite place and pick out some options that will work with your plan and still keep you satisfied.

so far i've had another lovely day. babysat my brother's kids again and i am so proud to say that i didn't eat ANY of his food! instead i brought a healthy lunch along and ate that. in addition, i towed all three kids around their hilly neighborhood in a wagon for 30 min which def. got me working up a sweat. did some healthy grocery shopping and then got home and busted my butt with a workout dvd. exercise today has really been on point which is saying something since i didn't really want to do any of it. so glad i did though :)

hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow!

Erin Awesome job on the eating and whoop whoop on the scale very happy for you. It is hard to workout when your exhausted from work. Family can be a pain some times its because they can hurt you most I think and when the drama comes up it can drive you to the nearest drive thru... emoticon . My dad passed away this past Sept 2 days before my birthday and some of the estate is getting settled and it is crazy how ugly and strange relatives/siblings can get with this but it is what it is.

Tonight was piano and it was just me and the 7 year old, she loves to go out for dinner afterwards and last few times I said no but this time I didn't and thought I was making better choices only to turn out uhhh 690 plus 300 for dinner alone.... pfffffft So next time I must remember to look up the calories/fat information before we go on the restaurants around here. Watching the news about the crazy plane that disappeared and my heart hurts for the families of the people on it.. to crazy for me cant even think about it to much. I have been getting to my fitbit walking goal every day I even upped the steps to hit to 13000 and have gone over every day so far... emoticon Power walking at lunch and both breaks and instead of using the washroom close to the office I walk the hospital from one end to the other and then go back and use it... that all or nothing additive personality shining through emoticon It was a beautiful day again here so yaaaaaaa whoooo.
Well I hope everyone has a great Friday!

Good Evening Ladies,

work has been a bit crazy the last few days and all i've wanted to do when i get is home is go to sleep. i had my weekly WI yesterday and was down 2 pounds for the week. pretty good but even better is the fact that i managed to go the entire week within my calorie range. that is a HUGE accomplishment for me and i'm really proud of myself for that. this week won't be quite so perfect but i have no reason to believe i won't get my loss as long as my higher days aren't too bad. i am having a bit of trouble with getting the exercise in during the week. as i said, work has been exhausting and i haven't wanted to do anything once i get home. going to try and make up some of the workouts this weekend but thats not really how i should be doing things. need to improve on that front.

Sheri,
sometimes family can be a major pain in the butt like that. i can't say i know a very good cure for emotional munchies as those are my biggest downfall as well. that being said, journaling, taking a walk, or venting to a sympathetic ear can help a lot.

hope everyone is doing well. be happy, its almost friday!!!

Congrats Ashley on finding a new place!

Chimera, Thank you.

Erin.... wow you are on fire.

Last night wasn't the best for me I ate some taco shells (wanted something crunchy had nothing else) late at night along with a sweet roll with cream cheese icing. My family drives my batty and I had a conversation with one of them which bothered me all day long. The cals were still within the limit but annoyed that I folded even as I was putting them to the lips I was growling but it is done and it is a new day!

Hello,

another successful day for me. my plan to keep busy this weekend so that i don't eat out of boredom has worked out really well and with all the healthy cooking i've done, i now have meals for the rest of the week. went out for a gorgeous 3 mile walk this afternoon and just enjoyed the beauty of my surroundings and the sun on my skin. i'm very fortunate to live in a suburban area surrounded by lots of hills within close walking distance so that i can feel really close to nature while still having all of my creature comforts close by. so now i just need to finish today strong as well as tomorrow and i will have met my goal of staying in calorie range all week. i am so proud of myself and am looking forward to repeating the challenge next week. i know my body and the scale is appreciating the effort and i'm really curious to see if i can hit my goal of 210 by March 19th. it will be tough but i'll never know if its possible unless i try and right now the curiosity alone is motivation enough.

Chimera,
don't beat yourself up about not eating so well. you are making progress and nobody said you had to have everything down perfectly in order to be successful. continue tracking and trying to make small improvements every day and soon you'll find a happy medium that keeps you both satisfied and in range.

Ashley,
congratulations on the new home! the whole process can be a real stressor so no worries about not being totally on track with the diet and exercise. you don't need extra stress from that especially when all that packing is really helping you burn some extra calories that you probably don't even realize. what area of the country do you live in again? sorry to hear about your friend's employment situation. it does seem like that happens all too frequently that you get bad news at the most inopportune times. best of luck to him finding a new job and it sounds like maybe this is a blessing in disguise.

ok, about to head out for my daily walk with my mama. it'll be nice going out now since its lighter after the time change.

I didn't do so well with my eating. I did exercise on. Sat and went shopping on Sunday and bought healthy foods. to prepare for the week. So hopefully I will do better this week. Although I have blisters all over my feet from the increase in mileage this week. Happens every time with me.

Ginny - emoticon amillion!! Been praying for you and your family... hang in there!

Erin - HECK YEAH! I dread the situations that I know are my triggers and temptations knowing that it will be hard to handle. But you did so good! And all of these "No's" you've been throwing out at the treats - emoticon

Things have gotten pretty crazy these past 72 hours for me - we bought a house(!!!) about 30 minutes away with a really nice, REALLY hilly area. Like, I'll need 4-wheel drive next winter. All I can think is that when my hubby and I have kids, I will have a hard time not cursing under my breath trying to push the stroller around the neighborhood. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Haha.... but really it's a beautiful house, great deal, and safer neighborhood. Closing date is 4/10, so it's a quick deal! I spent hours today packing and moving down the stairs - we've been slowly packing things up over the past month since we have to be out of our current renting condo at the end of April. Had some good music going, looked up and it had been 3 hours! No wonder I was sweating!

In the middle of that, a few of our friends had their baby boy, Tycho. And this morning an issue came up with the hubby's work (bartender) - he may be looking for a new job in the VERY near future. Terrible time for that kind of stress, but I have complete faith in him and his work ethic - that man is INCREDIBLY employable lol... I'd rather he like the place he works and have his co-workers appreciate him than stay where he is and be stressed. Any prayers and good thoughts would be appreciated! emoticon

Stressful week, didn't really have any gym time - diet hasn't been the worst, but I could still do better. Haven't started on the food tracking yet... no time like the present!

Glad to stop in and see everyone's posts! Keep up the good work!

To my biggest critic: if you are reading this, your new self is already winning. Keep working. Keep posting. Keep going. Don't try to tell yourself you can't do it, because if you are reading this, YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE IT! Love, yourself.

Good Evening Ladies,

JDC,
way to go on shaving off the 5K time! 8 minutes is a lot and you should be super proud of yourself. i bet the more involved you become in your training the more in calorie range days you'll have. keep up the hard work.

Sheri,
yay for the loss!!! i know that must have been so nice to see after the last few WI's but obviously you didn't let the chocolate monster do too much damage. hopefully now you'll have a little extra motivation to keep moving forward.

i just had a pretty great NSV today. i got called up by my brother to do some last minute babysitting for his three kids. usually babysitting equals me pigging out at his house since they are stocked with all kinds of junk food and i just can't control myself around all of that temptation. well not today! i did have some junk but not too much and only trackable junk (goldfish and oreos). i made sure to have a lighter dinner plus i pushed and pulled all three kids in a wagon for 30 min up a few hills to help offset the not so healthy calories. this is a real win for me since i usually don't even try to be good at his house. however, my goal of going the entire week eating in range so close to me that i really didn't want to throw away for no real reason. if i go out to eat, thats one thing, since its almost impossible to eat low calorie when out, but babysitting doesn't count. thats just a situation where i need to learn how to control myself and today i did that. big pat of the back for me :)

ok, about to head off to bowling and hopefully not embarrass myself with abysmal scores and gutter balls. you'd think i'd be getting better at this but it seems more like random luck if i have a good night. oh well, its fun and gets me out of the house so it doesn't really matter if i suck.

have a great night ladies!

Hello Everyone!

Ginny... My heart goes out to you and your family. emoticon .

Erin....For real you are motivating me with all your positive energy coming through, you are doing so great. Two thumbs up for you woman! The Chocolate monster won not a huge win for it but a choc wafer cookie x 2 win. My daughter takes Ballet/creative dance. I am a closet dancer or a vacuuming the house dancer emoticon. When do you find out again about job position?

Chimera..... I love hiking it is the best isn't it.

JDC.... Woot woot on the time for your 5k. I am jealous still happy for you but yes a little jealous I think emoticon

The scale has gone down again!!!! I was so worried about stepping on the thing thinking if this does not show a decrease and shows an increase again I will pitch the biggest fit ever. But something is working emoticon It is like a huge weight (no pun intended here) was lifted off my shoulder or back or is it a monkey on the back....... man do I get sidetracked. It is such a boost to see some of the hard work pay off it really helps to motivate a person I figured something was going on as the other day and keep in mind I am being honest here... I was crossing my legs and did not I repeat did not have to lift anything up and over I felt some space between the tummy and my leg ...... schwwweeeeeet I say. It is warmer but no sun which is a bummer but will take the warmer weather for sure.

Well ladies here is to a awesome no late night eating, eating clean and moving Sunday evening.

I don't always make time to reply, but I love to see everyone's messages on here! Hope you're all doing well! I ran/walked my 5K Saturday morning and was so happy to have cut 8 minutes off my time from the last time. I don't have a lot of free time in my schedule so planning these races has been a great motivator for me to get in my training for my exercise. I'm still struggling with staying in my calorie range some days but I'm getting there.

Good Evening,

Ginny,
my most sincere and deepest sympathies to you. losing a loved one is so difficult but at least she was surrounded by family and you have each other to help you through the grieving process. take your time to deal with her loss and come back when you are ready. love you, girl.

Sheri,
was the dance for you and your daughter? i've been thinking about taking some dance classes again as i loved it as a kid and think it would be great exercise that is more fun than going to a "fitness" class. keep holding that chocolate monster at bay!

Chimera,
good for you for finding ways to stay active while away from home. walking and hiking are some of my favorite outdoor activities as it really lets you experience your surroundings. brush off the high food day and make the rest of the week in rang and you'll be fine.

i'm doing quite well today. did some grocery shopping and stocked up on lots of healthy eats. got in my 20min lower body dvd that now has me walking like a drunken sailor since my legs are so tired and sore. eating has been in range so far and i'm feeling really awesome about going 5 days in a row in range. it really is getting a bit easier to resist the temptations. learning from last weekend by keeping myself occupied so that i don't turn to food out of boredom.

hope you ladies have a lovely sunday!

Doctor's appt on Friday that brought me out of town. But before I left home I looked up a couple of hiking trails in the area of my doctor's. Absolutely wonderful walk before and after my doctor's appt. Bringing my mileage up to 8.3 this week, only now I have blisters on my toes and the sides of my feet! Ugh! So today I stayed in and did my Xbox Your shape evolved workout for an hour. (I can do this in my bare feet so it is the best option when I feel like putting my feet in shoes will hurt.

Friday was a horrible day as far as food goes though. Went way over. Trying to keep it straight today!

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Hi everyone:

Sounds like everyone has been productive and busy. Erin - also sending good vibes your way for a permanent position.

Only back in town for an overnight visit. It has been a very hard week. My sister passed away Thurs at 4 AM in her house surrounded by 4 sisters. It was obviously no surprise but still tough to watch and believe. Her viewing will be tomorrow afternoon and then mass and burial Monday morning/afternoon. My emotions have been all over the place and while I am happy for her to be at peace and no longer suffering, it hurts like crazy.

I will return at some later date when my head is screwed back on right. In the meantime, keep up the great work and best wishes for much success for each of you.

Yesterday was very nice. Today, dance, movie and now home and thinking I need to get myself moving to log some walking minutes. The wind has picked up again here but it is still only -13 c so can't complain really. Tomorrow is supposed to be awesome and will be getting my fresh air intake again. Eats were good yesterday fighting off the chocolate monster though. The plan is to be back at work for Tuesday.

Erin, sending secured permanent position vibes your way.

It's Friday! emoticon

today was such a drag at work but its the weekend now and i'm so thankful for that! had another good day with eating in range and got in a pilates video. just have to finish my habits and make sure i don't go rummaging through the kitchen later tonight. i was really excited at work because they FINALLY posted the permanent positions and i was able to apply first before everyone else. i've been a temp at my company for over 8 months now and i am so ready to become permanent. can't wait to see when i get the position. feels great knowing my boss is looking out for me and putting in a request for me to get the job. there are several temps competing for a limited number of positions but i feel pretty confident one of them will be mine :)

Sheri,
hope your walk was sunny and lovely. nothing quite like being outdoors in good weather after a long, cold winter.

hope everyone else is doing well and has a great weekend!

Happy Thursday!
emoticon
another successful day for me. passed on donut holes this morning and a brownie this afternoon, woot woot! i am really focused on staying in range this week and i am so proud of myself for not giving in to temptation. got all my water in, working on my habits and about to do a core dvd. overall, quite a lovely day :)

Chimera2311,
wow, that is scary about the brakes. seems like that is going around or something since you're not the first person here to have that problem. def. a good choice to stay put and wait to have them fixed. you are really racking up the miles and fitness minutes. between and exercise and eating it sounds like you are also having a great week. keep up all the hard work and know that your efforts will be soon reflected on the scale.

Sheri,
how are you feeling post-op? almost back to your old self yet?

Good night ladies!

Oiy on the breaks situation. I did my breaks on my Honda and didn't attach the caliper properly and uh lost my breaks on a side street can be scary for sure. Good thing you found out sooner then later.

Well have a great evening everyone
