I have been MIA - sorry about that, i really need to keep accountable and check in - that deadline is fast approaching. The weekend was a washout for me as far as exercise, just wasn't feeling great. But did well on food. Til Monday.....cookies made for my son's 15th birthday per his request really did me in.

but back on track, here's yesterdays report:

1. in calorie range, but still ate cookies
2. ran almost 40 minutes
3. tracking my food, even when i don't like what i see

Would like to get the tree in the stand and decorated today...love that aromatherapy!

Nice job, everyone! I'm just checking in from being under the weather... Just about back to my normal self! :)
1) Ate within calorie range today, and made fairly wise food choices
2)Played 30 minutes of tennis with my dear husband today. So much fun, and quite a workout if you make it :)
3) I'm all set up for Christmas with my tree and my lights up and it's a good reminder of the end of this challenge, 12/24! :)

1. avoided chocolate completely
2. 30 minute run
3. tracked my food honestly - even though lunch was too many servings of veggie chips and nothing else. not so healthy, but better than potato chips. That'll teach me to go grocery shopping before I eat.

Well, our McDonald's isn't selling the McRib yet, so I had to get a fillet-o-fish. It's wasn't that bad for me only 380 calories and 18 fat, but HALF of a large fry was 250 cals and 13 fat. Tomorrow I will be back on track.

Good Morning - i am playing catch up here - this is Sundays info:

1. whoa - way over on calories. big time.
2. plus side - got 40 minutes of walk/run in
3. realized just now that I did not log in those snack size packs of chips i ate - 2 not just 1 !!!! I MUST write it down or log it as I consume it or before. On the bright side I am learning day by day how easy it is to slip and tricks to avoid slipping every day.

1) my eating was over in the cals by like 50 and fat by 4. which is not hat bad.

2) i did not work out. i feel realy bad but i will make up for it.

3) i am cleaning out my clost and hoping i get to get some smaller clothes soon.

p.s. does anyone have any ideas on what i could try to help with my eating.

Hi to all the latest members - Welcome!

1. I had a serving of chocolate - and it wasn't even that great but of course I ate it - at least it was just ONE serving.

2. Did not get in my cardio yesterday, got adjusted by the chiropractor and thought running might not be smart.

3. I tracked my food at least. But it wasn't pretty. Oh well, at least I am being honest in my tracking and I know I can and will do better.

Happy Black Friday! I am not a shopper, so will enjoy my online shopping instead of fighting the crowds. But good luck to all who ventured out.

Thanksgiving was a great day for me. I loved my meal, made good choices, did not track it all but wrote down everything until dinner and did pretty well. A bit over i'm sure since I don't usually eat pie and ice cream and mints - lol, but it was fun.

1. I avoided chocolate at least
2. I ran 35 min, walked 30 minutes.
3. let myself off the hook for tracking on computer, but still wrote down my food until the turkey dinner. Felt pleasantly full and not stuffed.

Hello and I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!
1. I wasn't perfect today in terms of eating. I had a soda with my lunch and another one later on while doing cooking prep.
2. I ran today. I met a personal goal of running a mile in less than 10 minutes. I ran a 9:56 mile today and I was very happy/exhausted!
3. I avoided some bad food choices today. Yes!

Let's try to make some Thanksgiving goals... My Thanksgiving goal is to limit my beverage calories from sodas, juices, etc. and to have a reasonable portion of desserts.

My 3 goals for the day are:
1. To not eat after 7pm, I enjoy to snack at night which I really have to stop.
2. Walk at least 30 minutes a day (trying to get up to 10,000 steps a day)

2. Ran around like crazy today all day until I just got home from teaching/spanish class/ and running errands at 9. Should get a treadmill so I can still run when I get home and it's dark!

Hello everyone! Where are you?? It seems like the weekend seem harder to stay on track with signing in and/or making good health choices. It's okay if you're not perfect one day- still sign on and say something you're proud of that day. Or, ask for help! For example, on Thanksgiving, we might not all stay within our calorie range, but we can still have sucess like, "I said no to my second piece of pie" :)
Okay, here goes for today:
1) Did pretty well with eating today, although Saturday was not so glorious. How do you stay on track when eating out?
2) Going on a run after dinner :)
3) Lost three pounds since this all started. That makes me happy!

I dont know what it is, i can not seem to stay on track with my workouts when my husband is home, He messes up my whole day when he is home, funny, I can say that i continue to eat well wether he is home or not, and the recipes here at sparks are amazing and do keep me on track, but i need more inspiration or motivation for the exercise part,

Ok, so it's time I find some motivation and what a great idea to do it during the holiday's. I'm Cindy. I work part time and have 3 kids. My youngest just turned 1 and I still have 10 baby pounds and an additional 5. When I reach that goal of 135 (I'm 31 yrs old and 5'6") I would really like to get to 128 lbs.

1. Stay away from fast foods, soda and limit some carbs.
2. 30 min of excersise daily
3. I pride myself in the fact that I bablance so much and try to help everyone. But today I'm making a decision to put me first. No excuses! I am better use to them if I feel good about me, right?

Well i did not do my cardio max today, but i did walk the dog for 45min, i did not track my food today but tried to stay in my calorie range as possible but its hard when you are out all day, i have done pretty good about not eating after 8 except for today i had a low fat fudgisicle but its under 90 cal. oops i think today was a loss, but tomorrow will be better.

Today went pretty well for me -

1. no salty chips or chocolate - woohoo!
2. ran 15 minutes - got interrupted by a chatty neighbor - plus walked and did house work and then went to w.t. at gym...not a continuous 30 but at least 30 total
3. Feel good that I am in calorie range and tracking faithfully. That is hard for me to do - once I stop tracking I get naughty about my eating emoticon

Looking forward to seeing my DD - its been 3 months since she moved up to college and she'll be home for Thanksgiving soon.

I'm in too.

1. I will stay away from these trigger foods: peanut butter, cheese and candy...because once I start eating these, portion control is lost! (did yesterday)
2. I will walk at least 15 minutes a day. (did yesterday)
3. Also trying to quit smoking and yesterday I only had 8 cigarettes (about 1/2 of what I usually smoke).

Today, I didn't make some of my food challenges. 16 oz instead of 8oz. I did eat ice cream and sherbert about 3 large scoops but I hadn't had any in a week which is a big step for Miss Dairy Queen. Yet, I did walk 10 minutes on my treadmill, and because my day was packed, sneaked in moving my arms too with 2 pound weights as a very tiny step in the strength training side of things. Hi everyone - it looks like we are off to a great start. Just knowing that I must report in helps me to do the right things:

1. No salty stuff or chocolate today.

2. short run - 35 minutes plus warm up/cool down, and then went to gym for killer legs and shoulder workout. I feel my quads and hamstrings already.

3. Stayed on track with eating, even tho I didn't have my computer working until tonight. Just wrote it down and logged in and still did fine. Progress!

Sounds like every one is doing great! I love a challenge! Brings out the best in me!

1. Ate very well today! Ate good whole foods! Lots of fruits, veggies, yogurt, nuts, lean proteins and whole grains.

2. I ran my Week 4 Day 1 of the Couch to 5K program.
3. Did some balance and yoga with my Wii Plus Program.
And . . . my brag item . . . I took my measurements last night and discovered I had lost 1 inch off my waist this month, 1 1/2 inches off my hips, 1 inch off my thigh and 1 inch off my upper arms! Woo! Hoo!

Great job, everyone!
1. I ate well today. What helped me was last night I packed my lunch and planned my breakfast. I put it into my nutrition planner in advance and then I knew exactly what I could eat today and what calories I had left for dinner. No surprises!
2. I played with my dog on the deck for 15 minutes running her back and forth. I will do another walk with her later tonight.
3. My husband told me that I looked thin this morning. That made me smile.

I would love to join this challenge.

1) Today I didn't do great on the food thing. I stayed within my calorie goal, but I did eat ice-cream.

2) I did a 35min Zumba video and some strength training.

Hey Everyone, good for all of you for sticking to your goals.
I have managed to stick to my goals for 4 days, yeeaahhh, but i want to know when the muscles stop hurting. So my day
1. did my 45 min cardio max.
2. stuck to good diet and kept in between my levels for calorie and carbs and fat.
3. went horseback riding for 30min.
4. trained the dog for 1/2 hr.

and now I am going to relax and watch House. and try not to snack,,

Hi everyone!!

I'm new to Spark People and love a good challenge. So why not start here??

1) 3 foods I will (do my best to) avoid: fast food, non diet soda, salty snacks

2) I will exercise at least 30 minutes 4 times a week

2. Power walked today for 30 minutes when I really didn't want to move.
3. Felt so much better after my walk that I ate right and felt smiley instead of grumpy. Exercise is an antidepressant emoticon

This challenge is great. Here are my goals:

1) walk/run 250+ minutes a week: goal minutes / today's minutes
2) eat 5 veggie servings a day
3) take vitamins & omega-3 every day
4) no fast foods until after the challenge (yikes!)
5) weigh-in & post my weightloss once a week

1. stop eating after 8pm i seem to have the least will power for food in the evening.

2. work out for at least 30 min every day

3. study for 1/2 hr every night, and then train dog for 1/2 hr every night.

I will avoid the following intake:
-no more than 8 oz. of any soda daily.
-no candy bar or cookie as a pick me up or catch-breakfast-on-the-fly item.
-more than one scoop of Any ice cream or frozen treat in 3 days.

I will make a goal of at least 6000 steps/day this next 5 days (pedometer measured) & increase that goal by 1000/day each following week.

I made concrete goals on my SP page, walked 4500. steps without really working at it today (no actual work out-just wore pedometer & made myself move more), and earned Spark points while meeting other members & being motivated by the sucesses all around me.

Hi all, I'm in! I'd like to lose 6 pounds before Christmas.

1. Things I keep in the house but have trouble enjoying in moderation: fiber one pop-tarts (SO good!), dark chocolate, and wine. I do so much better in my eating if I can include the things I really like, but keeping them around has always led to binges...no more!

2. Doing 30 min elliptical for the next week until my ankle is better, then back to half marathon training.

3. Today I got a tall coffee at Starbucks, instead of the pumpkin spice latte I really wanted but definitely didn't need.

This is the challenge. Over the next 6 weeks:
1. Will steer clear of chinese food; fast food; and, comfort foods (although I may cheat a little at Thanksgiving!);
2. Will get 30 min. of exercise in each day!

3. I will focus on the positive and not beat myself up over small "mis-steps"! Each day I am able to talk, walk, work, and move about--that is enough to be thankful for!!

I to have a few pounds to lose of baby weight, or toddler weight cause my daughter is two, I have started doing the biggest loser cardio max video, i am on day 3 and i also ride horses as much as possible. I would love to join! I am a SAHM with the last 10 pounds of baby weight to lose (my child is 2!).

1. I will stay away from candy and sweets in general - I have a real soft spot for these - and all sodas, even diet!

2. I just did a workout video for 20 min. I'll up it tomorrow.

3. Today I am proud that I made cookies with my daughter and didn't even try one or eat the dough! A definite first for me.

3. We washed the Lincoln and the Ram. It was such a pretty day.

Sunday - Nov. 15

1. stayed away from those foods, but did go over calories; note to self - potato salad is about as bad as potato chips, especially if I don't make it myself. Had it at a birthday party. oops.

2. Washed my Yukon - that took 40 minutes from scrubbing to drying and worked up a sweat. Does that count? I think it should! Plus lots of stairs doing laundry and Sunday chores.

3. Logged my food intake completely even tho I knew it might not be pretty. That is progress for me, since I tend to avoid that when i am eating too much.

2. I played my brand new Wii Fit today for an hour. So fun!

Hi everyone, I'd like to join too! This looks like fun.

1. The foods i need to avoid - fast food, potato chips, and over-indulging in chocolate. It is my main treat, so 1 or 2 small dark chocolates allowed if they fit in my range of calories.

2. This morning i ran in a 5K race, the first annual Key Largo bridge race and had a pace of 9:54/Mile - 30minutes, 41 seconds! Last year i would have been a walker, not a runner.

3. That is so much better than my pace starting last summer of 12 minutes for a mile! I am psyched to see progress.

Congrats to you Carolyn, I love being able to fit into clothes like they are new again.

Hello everyone! Carolyn, I'm so happy that you are able to fit into your pantsuit. That is so encouraging!
1. I stayed away from those foods today... but I'm wondering if I should also try to cut out soda. I love it so much, but I know it's not good for me. But I don't drink coffee and most people have a cup of a coffee a day.. Hmm...
2. I took a brisk walk around the neighborhood today with my husband looking for a lost neighborhood cat. didn't find it. :(
3. I don't really have a brag story today, but I am thinking of the challenge as I make my eating and activity decisions. So, that's a good thing!

Okay! I am in!

4. Today I rode my bike 26 miles!!!!!
5. Tonight I am going to the Theatre to see The Secret Garden! I put a really nice black silky pantsuit with a pretty wrap style top . . . AND it fits better than it did when I bought it six years ago! I actually look pretty nice in it! 46lbs. ago I couldn't even fit into it! That is my brag story for this day! Tell me yours!

Hi, My name is Sandy I would like to join you an this 6 weeks challenge. I have lost 26 lbs since Apirl. I choose to change my lifestyle.So far I been doing okay.But with it being near the holidays I do worrie about over eating.I do have lots of temption that I have to remind myself just to say no I wont eat that.I use to workout for 30 mins a day. Now I'm able to workout for 2 hrs 6 days a week. Sunday I choose to relax and just enjoy being with my husband and our six kids.

So count me in on this challenge:
I am going to stay away from all junk foods,fast foods,candy,cookies,pies,regular soda,fatty foods
I am going to continue my 2hrs workouts 6 days aweek.
I am going to still count my calories and watch what I eat and my portions.
I am going to drink more water cause I only drink 4 glasses a day.I should be drinking at least 6-8
I am proud that my kids look up to me and they see me working so hard at making my life better by exercising and eating healthy. They ask to workout with me. They tell me we want to be just like mommy.I see them running in space,doing situps,they even try to follow the routine of my slim 6 workout.So if they can look up to me I hope others will to....

Hello everyone! I, like all of you, have had really great intentions about losing weight and making better health choices. But, life is busy and I lack motivation. I need someone to ask how my health goals are going. I need someone to ask for help from, and someone to brag to! :)

This is the challenge. Over the next 6 weeks:
1. Choose 3-5 foods to stay away from over the next 6 weeks. Make these unhealthy foods that you tend to gravitate toward.
2. Get 30 minutes of exercise every day. This can be a brisk walk with the dog, a game of tennis, a run, or a bike ride. But, get up and move 30 minutes a day!
3. Find something throughout the day that you are proud of that you would like to share- a compliment from a co-worker, pants fitting a little looser, a more healthy meal ordered or a pound dropped. Focus on good you're doing instead of the occasional 'slip.'

And, then everyday that you can come onto Sparkpeople and share how you did with your tempting foods, the exercise you did and what you want to share/brag about! Sounds fun! Are you in?
