Good question. My weekly shopping list varies depending upon the. meals I am making, but I almost always buy (for myself and my family):

apples
bananas
berries
Orgain vegan protein shakes
whole milk grassfed yogurt
grassfed ground beef or lamb
grassfed uncured hot dogs
chicken thighs
mixed baby greens (for salads)
canned artichoke hearts
avocados
feta cheese (sheep milk only)
diced onion and shredded carrot (I add these to sauces)
asparagus
broccoli
grape tomatoes

Most of the above I buy organic. I also buy wild Alaskan salmon a couple times a month (when I can find it).

I don't have a ton of "must haves" because i really try to mix things up when I do my meal plan and I try to buy what is available at the farmer's market, but I do have a small handful:

Flatout bread wraps
eggs
low fat string cheese
berries of some kind
greek yogurt

My veggie and meat options vary depending on what meals I'm making.

Dry curd cottage cheese. It doesn't have all the crap ingredients and additives that regular cottage cheese has. I mix it with a little bit of greek yogurt and it comes out as tasting like regular cottage cheese anyway. It's VERY high in protein for few calories and it fills me up.

Tomatoes, eggs, egg beaters, celery, cucumber, brocolli, onion, protein powder (I prefer Vega Sport), vanilla Greek yogurt, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, frozen veggies, frozen hamburger patties, frozen chicken breast, brown or wild rice, almonds, apples, Lindt intense orange dark chocolate, salsa, hatch green chili, beans (kidney and black), quinoa, dave's killer bread in the freezer and it takes me 2-3 months to eat a loaf as a treat.

Must have items: Braggs Nutritional Yeast, broad spectrum of Vitamin E, organic free range eggs, skim milk, orange juice, carrots, cucumbers, hummus, low fat cottage cheese, gouda cheese, Jarlsberg cheese, (all cheeses with animal rennet in them), Parmigianino-Reggiano cheese, Fage 0% fat Greek yogurt, ghee, refined coconut oil by Nutria, green or red or yellow pepper, shellfish: either shrimp, scallops, or littleneck clams for once a week, and sardines. (Got to have those omega3s in my diet.) Kale, spinach, sourdough bread for once a week, (I keep that in the freezer), frozen blue berries, frozen cherries, prunes, raisins, dried apricots, bananas, and apples. Broccoli, onions. And for meats: clean organic chicken and turkey. And then I rotate other veggies to steam, such as cauliflower, zucchini, and such.

My newest MUST have is Vanilla Bean Hummus..it's a dessert spread, but it's made with chickpeas. 50 calories for 2 Tbsp, but because it's so vanilla-y and sweet I never make it through the actual serving size. The stuff is AWESOME! Perfect to have with strawberries. I also get Greek Cream Cheese, 4x the protein and 1/4th the fat of regular cream cheese and only 60 calories for 2 tbsp.

Hi, hey, and Hello! I'm Adept or VA. Nice to meet you!

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Seriously, I love celery and Laughing Cow cheese. It is my 'chip' craving go to. Oranges, and berries. then I get reddi whip for the berries, it's my 'sweet treat' go to.
Eggs and spinach--it's how I start my morning, every morning.

I find if I have a healthy breakfast I can 'figue out' the rest. But I plan the majority of my meals 2 weeks in advance to save $$ and time. I also am trying to do a triple batch cooking item once a week and freeze the other 2 meals of that batch to save me on days when I just don't wanna cook!

Goal 1000 fitness minutes/month!

I may not be to the finish line yet--but at least I am in the race!

A healthy me is up to ME!!!!!
