I use 1% milk, it works good for coffee, skim milk tastes like water and does not work in coffee. I eat gourmet ice cream on sale, it is only 100 calories per. 1/2 cup and it is not diet ice cream,so tastes good and comes in unusual flavors, I eat chocolate and other treats, everything is 100 calories as a treat, sometimes something every day. I allow it in my diet plan as it is not a diet but a lifetime way of eating. I go out to eat in restaurants for burger & fries,1 time a month at most and eat 100 calories less each day for 7 days before so I am not over my weekly calorie average. I have lost 40 pounds with this. I do not like fast foods and if I do go I have a low fat sub at subway or 2 tacos somewhere else, both less then 500 calories. I do not like fast food burgers.

I have mild chronic kidney disease and low blood pressure & many blood clots in my lung for 3 years. For the past 12 months I have pneumonia, 1 collapsed lung & glass attenuation in both lungs that can be a sign of cancer as well for, this has got worse.I am 54 years old as of last January 12.

A splash of sugared, vanilla almond milk in my coffee... especially when I can froth it with my espresso maker first (:

This is the result of years of coffee-ritual perfecting.
I know from experience if I don't have it I won't stay faithful to a diet.

I agree I don't have a " I can't eat this list", I too look for healthier options. I just ask myself if it is worth it to eat it. If I had to chose something it would be coke classic I could never see myself not drinking it.

Apples. A silly thing to say, I know, but they're really high carb for fruits. It's hard for me to fit one into my day with such a low carb target. But I have one every other day or so.

My morning coffee which includes creamer and sugar. The compensation came in what creamer/sugar I use. Currently, I found a creamer that is sugar free that I don't mind; however, I will allow myself to chose the other occasionally.

Also, ice cream. Summer is coming. Ice cream is a must! I will look for healthier options, but I won't pay an arm and a leg for it! Maybe I'll just buy a pint at a time when the yummies go on sale.

I don't compromise on ice cream either. I have it most days I just stick to the serving size. I usually eat my ice cream out of a measuring cup not a bowl. haha

There isn't anything on my "I-will-not-eat-this" list, but I am looking for healthier alternatives to some of my favourite foods.

One thing I won't settle for an alternative for, however, is Half and Half Cream in my morning coffee. I can't start the day without it!

My motto is everything in moderation. Bible says everything is permissible, but not all things are beneficial. If I say I can't have something, then it makes me crave that. So if I give myself permission to have it, most of the time I don't eat it. Reverse psycology works ever time emoticon

Believing my life verse:
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
With God nothing is impossible-

I eat a ketogenic diet (high fat, very low carbs, moderate protein), no sugar and no grains but, I will not give up having real sugar in my tea and coffee! I used various artificial sweeteners for several months and just could not get my chai tea to be just how I like it. One day I accidentally used cane sugar and it was The Best chai I had made in months. I've been able to reduce the amount of sugar I use (1/2 tsp to 8 oz of tea) but, it has to be real sugar or honey. Everything else I modify or don't eat.

Working on being awesome! (thanks to Chris T. on Fitbit for that phrase)

define "compromise".....lol

There is nothing on my "never eat list".....Its all about balancing in vs. out.

I also tend to get chocolate fit crunch bar instead of candy bars......I get one small iced mocha instead of 5.....so I guess that could qualify as a compromise

Its all about staying in my caloric goals and never feeling deprived.

I have anosmia (can't smell) which has it's disadvantages. That also dulls my tastebuds. Taste is limited to sweet/savory/sour and hot. The advantage is, I can eat darn near anything to save calories. Slop on sugar free syrups or hot sauce and I can eat it. The sad part is that the one thing I really can taste is salt and I have high blood pressure. Life's dirty little tricks.

Peanut Butter (Skippy is my favorite, but a little Jif and Peter Pan are okay)

When I do have bread (which isn't that often) it has to be really, really good. I'm thinking French type of bread with a very crusty top, lots of air holes and a ton of flavor. I'll have that with just butter.

Whole dairy including: real butter, whole milk and sour cream.

Brown sugar, cinnamon and mini-marshmallows on a sweet potato.

Good old fashioned caffeinated coffee w/half and half.

Granulated real sugar.

This is how my grandmother ate and she lived to be 98 years-old and was slender her whole life! She just rarely over-indulged.

Like many, I use whole eggs, butter, pure maple syrup, real half and half cream, and real bacon. Trying to wean myself from artificial sweeteners, but I live with a diabetic who was taught that "sugar" is bad for diabetics, use (insert what ever artificial sweetener you want). I hate canned veggies, except for corn. I would much rather have fresh, but frozen works too.

Real foods...I won't skimp and eat low fat/low calorie choices because in the end I'll just over eat. Real butter and yogurt for example are better than the alternative for our bodies.

Chocolate - in moderation its part of my every day life.

I'll never give up cheese or steak!

I have totally give up soda and am working at eliminating processed foods.

Chocolate and chips

I USED to eat these in an unlimited amount daily,,, all day long. (I HAD said I've NEVER STOP drinking Pepsi, but SMILE I DID ! So yeah NEVER say never !)

Chocolate has it's place when it's a bad craving AND I do it in it's PORTION size. NOT daily for sure. Same with chips. In it's right portion (actually a 1/2 portion size is fine. I just break them up into pieces and savor them) all is FINE.

I find for those who cut out all or most of the things they love,,,, over the many of years it does not work. ***PERSONAL Findings *****

same as some others, real butter, full fat cheese and mayo. Full fat ice cream altho Dreyer's used to have a half fat caramel that was just like the full fat version. I haven't seen it lately. I do make sure I eat controlled portions of all of these or eat them rarely enough or manage the rest of my day/week so that I can have a larger portion and still be within my own set parameters
