I did the Dukan three years ago and lost 30 pounds. I kept it off but until this year and 15 pounds crept on. I have been on the diet again for 5 days. Lost 3;5 pounds and have successfully been able to avoid my daily wine. It bothers other people when you eat meat and don't drink but this diet truly makes it easy to avoid carbs.
Low carb, high protein, with a book and a new following? Sounds like a fad diet to me - and thanks but no thanks. Just like Atkins and all those other diets that drop weight fast but aren't sustainable.

Well if you actually read his book and complete all 4 stages. You eat everything in moderation. What i like about it is that it helps you restructure your eating habbits. So its not jusy a fad diet... plus all the things you can bake,create and cook on it are endless..and its healthy drop in weight every weeks. Without counting calories. I am meat person.. but even so there only as much meat you can consume. As for protein only days. You have to have common sense. Not exceeding 5 days. Idk... ive done first phase..and feel great.
Dukan Diet says all I need to know. It is a "diet". It has restrictive food lists. I can't imagine eating that much meat and oat bran. The only structure I need is the Spark basis of sticking to a calorie range, and choosing foods that will provide me with a healthy and well-balanced way of eating-- including treats and splurges and celebration meals in moderation.
If you plan to eat that way for the rest of your life.... well I reckon that's your choice. There is a Spark Team for this already.

Hi everyone! I don't believe in diets BUT after gaining 65lb of fat after being fit and lean i needed a structure to get me back on shape, and reteach my eating habits. I did a ton of research including reading Dr. Dukan's book on it. And since i LOVE meat i decided i could give it a try. The main reason i like it because it gives you structure and a plan. On top of helping transition after, and keep the weight foreverů it's not a fad diet! And its not a diet for 3 weeks. So anyone who's ready to get rid of fat join me on this long journey! I'll be recording my progress with before and after pictures. Posting recipes.. SO.. lets keep each other motivated!!!!
