I use both a stainless steel thermos for hot things and my lunch bag is insulated - I have a cold pack to keep things cold. I have an ice pack from Costco in my lunchbox that stays icy even after being outside for 8 hours. The thermos keeps things hot for 4 hours, but after that it's warm, not hot. That is fine for me.
What I use often: http://www.amazon.com/Arctic-Ultra-Performance-Expandable-Cooler/dp/B00DY7KPJW/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1404775981&sr=1-1 It was probably under 20 dollars at Costco.
I also have a laptop lunch kit. it fits an insulated cooler bag. I like both - but the Costco one holds more food.

The easiest for lunches is to make enough for lunch from the leftovers.
A piece of chicken, vegetables and a grain with a piece of fruit is easy. I like spaghetti with meat sauce over diced zucchini and mushrooms. I find it more filling than the traditional pasta way. When you pick up food at the gas station, what do you get? Maybe we can help you find something similar that is healthier?
I need some help with breakfast and lunch options. I'm thinking, for the morning, I can make a smoothie, but not sure what I need. I have a magic bullet, I think it's called. My brother uses it to make his green drink. But that might not be the name of it. I believe it was bought at Costco and I do think it is a blender. But I would really like to make a fruit smoothie, not just one of those green drinks. Like berries (including strawberries), maybe an apple or orange, banana. Anyways, is fruit all I need or do I need to add water, dairy, etc?
For lunch, I can use the help as I take a bus about 2 hours to work and I stay out in the sun for a while, so anything frozen is probably out. Any help would be great.
I really just want to lower my calories so I can lose a bit of weight, gain some energy so I can go back working out again. I know at my current shape, I actually feel like throwing up just running, so I know I got to lose some pounds (and getting the proper rest) before I go out and start exercising again. Thanks!
