I understand the science behind GMOs so I am very comfortable with them as foods. The things that I do not like about GMOs are the business practices that follow them (licenses, no seed saving, overuse of herbicides, etc). I wish that most people would spend a little more time reading about what GMOs are from reputable sources rather than some random blog on the internet that says that they are bad because they are "unnatural".
However, I think that there will always be a demand for heirloom crops as they add variety. Eat what you want, but take the time to make an informed decision about what you consume.
I am all for the labeling of GMO food. Since you will never find any "good studies" that show that GMO's do harm, because that would take years and a lot of money to complete. Basically if a food does not kill you within hours of you eating, that food is deemed safe. This is why I think that labeling needs to be informative and not a marketing ploy. Like when a pretzel has fat free in bold letters across the package.
