Yes! One of the things that surprises me is just how much I LOVE the healthy food and choose it more times than not.

Eggs are salty, just to add to Russell's point. (And yum beets! Though they are in fact sweet enough that I like them best mixed with other things. I just finished up a dish of butternut squash, kale, almonds and (sweetened) cranberries -- also quite a sweet dish, even the cranberries aside. The squash is sweet.)

As for the question, the answer is largely yes. Certain things and certain meals I eat just for the sake of calories/getting something into my stomach and those I barely notice going down most of the time. But the meals I pay attention to (preparing and eating) I truly enjoy. I kind of always did, though. I seek out certain things more often than I used to and am indifferent to a whole lot of things I used to seek out; but I always did like properly cooked vegetables, for instance. Usually ate them first, too. Regardless, it's even more so now, and that's nice.

Yes!

I've started ordering "fancy" salads at restaurants, not to watch what I'm eating, but because they're actually delicious.

Yes, I enjoy my food a lot, which has helped me stick to it.

I was visiting a friend at his pizzeria, and they had beets, a food that I thought was bland, and disgusting before I switched my diet. I had one slice, and it was incredibly sweet. We have messed up our taste buds so bad with all the sugar and salt that we can't even taste how good the food actually is. Chicken is salty, many vegetables and fruit are sweet. I remember eating berries with milk, and sprinkling sugar on top, or salting any dish before I even tasted it. Now it just makes no sense, but it was how everyone ate, so I just did it.

Another aspect that i think people miss, is sense of smell, which greatly affects taste. I used to have a constant stuffy nose, feeling of congestion, and could barely smell anything. Since cleaning up the food I eat, I can smell many times better. If I am cooking chicken and vegetables in the kitchen, I can smell both of them cooking, from 40 feet away now, in the living room. I can tell you whether the vegetables is broccoli, or peas.

This ability to smell I think makes the food taste better. You smell it for 20 minutes cooking, and the anticipation makes it taste so much better, besides the fact that smell affects taste too.

Now that I eat more healthy, I can really appreciate a well executed meal. Even the most simplest of dishes. Last night I had a very simple broccoli salad with my meal. Just steamed broccoli, olive oil, fresh lemon juice and salt and pepper. After a day of Doritos and Ding Dongs I could never really taste the goodness of a dish like that. Now I taste things in foods that I never tasted before and it is so enjoyable.

Weight is the result of what you have been doing for the past week.
