Almost daily, the exceptions being only when I am in a rush and forget. It is vital to me, especially now in maintenance. I don't track, so there is literally no other way for me to be certain that how I am eating hasn't started me on the path to regaining weight, other than to pay careful attention to trends on the scale. (I don't trust my ability to take measurements accurately, nor do I think the measurements would be sensitive enough anyway. Fit of clothes would never work for me; half the time I'd be panicking over nothing and the other half of the time I'd be missing real danger signs.)
I've been doing this for long enough now that I believe I have a very good handle on weight changes that are meaningful versus those that are not. Scale goes from 145 to 148 overnight I don't even care. I know it's nothing. Scale is averaging 146+ for two weeks after averaging 145 for the two weeks before, on the other hand? Might be a problem. (That's happened once to me so far, and I took steps right then.) Without the frequency of weighing that I do, there'd be no way to distinguish between the first type of weight change and the second for much, much longer if at all, and I'd run a much higher risk of a weight gain becoming significant enough to weigh on me mentally before I was able to address it. It's also much more difficult (IMO) to keep up with habits that are only engaged in once a week. How often have I seen people write in blogs here that they "forgot to weigh in" for a month or so only to find they'd gained five pounds and were in a panic? I'm not going to let that happen to me unawares.
So that's why I do what I do.

It depends, now I'm more lax about it, but there have been times where I'd weigh every time I went into the bathroom. That was mostly when I lost weight though, and I think I just got excited and wanted to keep seeing the new number.
Right now I check every few days, because I increased my calorie burn A LOT (thank you kettlebell!), and it's harder to add 400-450 more calories a day. I know it sounds easy, but my living/food situation is complicated right now.
I have a small frame for my height, and with the way my body carries weight I can be just fine in the mid-120lb range. However, I don't want to drop too far because I'm not paying attention, and cause concern either.

I weight myself once a week- every Wednesday morning.
Honestly I think weighing yourself too much can really affect your psyche. If you feel you are that bothered by "bad" weeks or times that you are that thrown off by normal ups and downs - perhaps there is something else you need to work out in your plan. When I really want to weigh myself daily I realize it's because I'm needing some sort of gratification outside of just treating myself well and being healthy. And that gratification isn't healthy. I should feel good about my progress in changing my ways rather than being upset that .5 a lb snuck on in a day because of water intake, hormones, etc.

I'm still trying to figure out what is right for me.
I used to weigh myself every morning and every evening. I felt better keeping track of where I was at with my weight but my self esteem was affected whenever I gained anything or wasn't losing anything. I then decided that I was only going to weigh myself about one time per month. I started feeling great about myself and found that I enjoyed my body MUCH more... until my clothes started getting tight. I realized that I had gained 12 pounds! Yikes!
I'm now back to weighing every day, but only in the morning. I can gain up to 5-7 pounds in a day depending on water weight, food intake, hormones, etc, so I'm just trying to be smart about things now.
I think it is all about what works for you, your body, and your self esteem.

I am like Eelpie. I weigh myself daily. I record it in Excel and get a weekly average as well as a monthly average. Sometimes, I go over my daily calories consumption and still maintain the same weight from the day before, sometimes it goes up a pound or two, etc.
For me, I weigh myself everyday because I figure it gives me a better idea of what is going on with my weight. Of course, I also realize that it's just as important to get your measurements (waist, hips, bust, arms, etc.).
I think it depends on the person. I'm a bit of a Type A personality and like to see the trends over time. It also helps me to keep myself in line so that my weight doesn't creep back upwards.
all of us have daily fluctuations. it's what means we are alive. 5 lbs either way is normal and average and about like saying that you're breathing. the thing that you have to remember is that your weight on any one day does not tell you anything. it's the general trend of your weight over a longer period of time that's important. almost no one loses 1 lb exactly per week straight through their loss. they lose 2 lbs one week, nothing the next, then half a pound, then they are up 1 lb then down another half then up .5 lb, then down 1.5 lbs and so forth. that's normal bobbling and none of that means that what they are doing isn't working. it just means that other things happen to be in them at the time. for people who weigh everyday, they notice the trends, just like people who only weigh weekly. there have been studies that show that people who aren't overweight in the first place can be helped to not gain or not gain as much by weighing everyday. for people who are already overweight there seems to be such emotional interference from the scale that it causes more anxiety than anything else. if you don't mind seeing the daily fluctuations, there isn't really any reason not to weigh everyday. if seeing a half pound gain one day is going to make you cut your calories to 500 and start a four hour workout session, it's best to keep the weighing to a minimum. one off weigh in does not mean that you gained weight or did anything wrong. but if you think it means that you're ruined, then you're likely the sort of person who needs to weigh less often.

I wish I could rely on measurement alone, Slimmerkiwi, and I do measure my waist and test clothes! But I also need that reassurance from the scales.
I would only ever do it in the morning, at the same time under the same conditions (otherwise, like you it could fluctuate by quite a lot during the same day and a person could go mad that way).
I'm not obsessed with what the scales say, but I think if I'm going to use them, it has to be two or three times a week to believe I'm getting an accurate picture... otherwise I think not using them at all would be better than a weekly weigh-in. I'd be wondering all week if that was what I really weighed, or if it was just the snack I had before bed showing up that particular morning...

My weight used to fluctuate even more than yours - in the course of the same day.
I never weighed myself weekly or fortnightly. I only ever weigh when I am at my Medical Centre, so long as it is before lunch and immediately after a visit to the loo.
You don't actually NEED to weigh yourself to see if you are succeeding. You can tell by the fit of your clothes; the condition of your hair/skin; your blood and BP results if they were problematic); the quality of your sleep; your energy levels; your fitness levels .... and the list goes on.
For me, altho' I have never had fat/overweight arms/legs/wrists/ankles, I was quite amazed at how my wrists shrunk. I went from genuine 'big-boned' with a gap of an inch between my middle fiinger and thumb when wrapped around my wrist, to my finger and thumb now over-lapping. AND I am certainly not skinny :-)
The recommendation here is to weigh yourself once a week, but what about those of us who have daily weight fluctuations (mine can fluctuate by 1.5-2 kilos, and always has!)? Surely it would be better to weigh twice a week or more on the off-chance that you get yourself on a 'bad' day on the weekly weigh-in and become discouraged because of it? I think that this is a particular problem for women due to hormonal factors - do you find that more regular weighing gives a more accurate picture of your true weight?
