You get the whole nutritional profile in real eggs. I've had the substitutes, and none of them taste "good" to me... I've used the store brands as well. Can't tell the difference.

But give me real, whole, pasture-produced eggs.... mmmmmmmmmm
Healthy and delicious!

EggBeaters - or the warehouse club equivalent.

When I quit eggs, my cholesterol dropped 30 points; no going back for me.

Real eggs and real food. I hate food replacements, nothing better than a good free range egg.

They taste the same to me. I love using these products.

One thing I've noticed is that I add them to soups and they take longer to firm up. This makes them a great protein boost, without the curdy swirls you get with regular eggs.

Another thing is that I bake with them all the time - I add them to breads, rolls, muffins, everything - and they give a lighter texture along with adding protein. That's something I really didn't expect. If you try this with regular eggs, you have to separate the white from the yolk, beat up the whites and then add them to the food.

Real, whole eggs are best for me, no substitutes and the yolk is the best part, but I eat the whole egg as nature intended.

But people like different things, and I do have to mention that tofu is a good egg substitute for a lot of uses.

Moving in new directions.

Real eggs or no eggs for me.....

Russell is right, for the price, I'd just separate eggs myself.

Maybe try All-Whites...100% liquid egg whites, no yellow dye, no saturated fat like egg beaters and cholesterol free. They scrambled nicely and are fluffy.

I find All Whites tasty...with green peppers, mushrooms, chopped onion and flax seeds. Sometimes I add red pepper flakes for a little kick.

The consensus on price seems to be $3.89 for a 16 oz. container or 10 servings of 3T, or 250 calories for the whole container.. That works out to about 14 eggs worth of egg whites( 17 cals ea. ).

Why not just buy 2 dozen eggs, which is cheaper, and just strain them through your fingers, and save money. I pay $2.98 for 2 dozen eggs at Aldi's, and I could get 12 days of 2 egg whites, or 34 calories worth, while the egg beaters would just get you 10 servings of 25 calories.

408 calories worth of eggs whites in 2 dozen eggs for less than $3, or pay an extra 90 cents, and get only 250 calories worth. You get a little more egg whites ( 34 vs. 25 ), and a little more protein ( 7.2 vs. 5 g), and it's cheaper. Plus you get 2 extra days worth.

What about powdered egg whites? No additives, cheaper, versatile.

Nothing is better than eggs, but Egg beaters taste horrible, so maybe the " Better N' Egg " tastes better than egg beaters.

You may want to add one yolk to several egg whites, to limit cholesterol, and still get decent taste.

I like eggs, I tried an all egg white omelet, it wasn't the best....

I want to use an egg substitute, which is the tastiest out there for making scrambled eggs?
