They taste the same to me. I love using these products.
One thing I've noticed is that I add them to soups and they take longer to firm up. This makes them a great protein boost, without the curdy swirls you get with regular eggs.
Another thing is that I bake with them all the time - I add them to breads, rolls, muffins, everything - and they give a lighter texture along with adding protein. That's something I really didn't expect. If you try this with regular eggs, you have to separate the white from the yolk, beat up the whites and then add them to the food.
The consensus on price seems to be $3.89 for a 16 oz. container or 10 servings of 3T, or 250 calories for the whole container.. That works out to about 14 eggs worth of egg whites( 17 cals ea. ).
Why not just buy 2 dozen eggs, which is cheaper, and just strain them through your fingers, and save money. I pay $2.98 for 2 dozen eggs at Aldi's, and I could get 12 days of 2 egg whites, or 34 calories worth, while the egg beaters would just get you 10 servings of 25 calories.
408 calories worth of eggs whites in 2 dozen eggs for less than $3, or pay an extra 90 cents, and get only 250 calories worth. You get a little more egg whites ( 34 vs. 25 ), and a little more protein ( 7.2 vs. 5 g), and it's cheaper. Plus you get 2 extra days worth.
