I only drank coffee before starting this....seriously. Now I'm drinking , on average, between 4 - 5 500ml bottles a day. I have been getting wicked cramps in my lower abdomen, and through the process of elimination, have concluded it's the water intake. After I've voided it all, the pain is lessened. Any thoughts on this? Right now, I am just looking at it as another reason to abhor drinking water, lol
I have always had a love affair with drinking water. I drink over 10 cups a day. Because of that I try to encourage my friends to drink more water by citing the many health benefits of water intake. I am proud and happy to say that two of my friends have upped their daily water consumption. Yea!

I worry about my husband because he doesn't drink enough water. I can get him to drink liquids if I make iced tea or hand him a glass of seltzer on ice or something like that, but he can go all day without a beverage if not reminded. Personally, I'm with you, I drink a glass of water, or a cup of tea, or something like that, pretty much off and on all day.
I agree water should be everyone's best friend...and for diabetics water and fiber. It is also critical to health and anyone trying to lose weight...it also insures proper blood volume...Water regulates blood sugar because if your body gets low on water, everything becomes concentrated. When a person is dehydrated, urine gets darker, you become constipated and your blood sugars go up.
It reduces sodium buildup and regulates your heart too!
We eat before thinking. Many times we are just thirsty and not hungry.

Thanks so much for the reminder. I have a hard time getting in my water.....I am in a challenge right now to get those 8 glasses a day so it will hopefully become easier with time. I like all the benefits you mentioned!

I was diagnosed with diabetes at age 5. Because of the diabetes, I CRAVED water. That sounds funny to crave water, but unless you know what having a really high blood sugar is, you really won't understand.
However, even when my blood sugars weren't high, i still loved my water.
Now i am almost 50 years old and let me tell you what water had done for me.
Water cleans out the impurities in not only your body but your skin as well. I have NEVER had acne a day in my life. My skin is clear as it was the day i was born with a few dry spots from living in the southwest for the past twenty years.
Water has also hydrated me everyday and i don't ever feel the lower back pains of people who don't drink water.
Water helps me maintain my weight as it clears out the impurities, but also it make me feel fuller throughout the day so i eat less.
