Apple Cider Vinegar helps me control my high blood pressure. Especially when the 3 medications I take does not work, I take 3 tbsps followed by water. Within 30 minutes, my pressure is down...but everyone is different, so find what works for you

It should!! That's the point. Don't just start chugging the stuff!!!

I did it. I diluted it in big glass of water. I rinsed my mouth out very well immediately afterwards....waited for 15 mins..then brushed well, and I only drank it once in the morning.

I am blessed with very good, strong teeth. There are some people who are not.

Because I did it and had no adverse effects, does not mean every one else won't.

And again, I also lost weight...but reduced my calories at the same time.

It's just like anything else on the planet, do your homework.

There are people who swear by ACV for weight loss (drinking the stuff - not buying pills). Does it work? I do not know. I know for other things, too. I love it as a toner.

There is concern, people, about teeth enamel if drunk.. Please do not rush into this without doing due diligence: curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=265634.

Again, I did it for my first month, just because it was there and I figured "what the hell". I also read up on it before I drank my first glass.

I also reduced and tracked my calories and stayed in my range. I lost 7-8 pounds my first month.

That would not have happened had I not stayed in my range.

As adults, I respect your choice to use foods as you feel appropriate; however I feel it is important to once again point out that:
There have been "only" a few vinegar studies (done mostly on rats). Of those studies, it may help with blood sugar control and cholesterol. But the research data is so small that no recommendations can currently be made for using it on humans. No evidence showing a benefit to weight loss at all. No recommendations for filtered or unfiltered.

It can also eroded tooth enamel and this is well documented.

And there are some studies showing that it can burn the skin depending on how it is used topical.

Hi, I also hear a lot about apple cider vinegar and thinking about using it in my salad instead of adding to water and drinking. Confused though, filtered or unfiltered, which is the best? I'm back after a year off Spark, and so much new diet info, pills and plans make my head spin, lol.

No such thing as "bad foods"- just bad choices.

Well I can give first hand knowledge on this subject. I have used it for a long time and it is great for so many reasons. It gives u energy and yes it helps with digestion and weight loss along with countless other things. My grandfather drank it religiously 4 times a day and he did not have dental issues from it or any other issues when he died. He took very little medication and died at the age of 101 so for those who doubt its power don't use it but I swear by it!

Helps cleansing. Heard somewhere that if you have skin tags dab apple cider vinegar and they will disappear, don't know how long it takes or if it works, maybe another member can give us some data...

I take 1 tsp shot of the apple cider vinegar a day and chug a ton of water after it. I found it helped cut back my night sweats.

I mix half and half with water. It helps my daughters hair look sleeker. She has always had fine soft hair until puberty kicked in. Now her hair is very voluminous and tends to be oily. A rinse once a week keeps it manageable. The rest of the week she washes and rinses with regular shampoo.

As one ages, hormones decline and so does stomach acid. I find that using a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water helps with digestion and can stop heartburn which can be fro not enough hydrochloric acid to digest. If it doesn't work then use baking soda instead but careful with all the sodium.

Eating a green apple helps with heartburn issues too.

Basic food is a fantastic way to start! Broccoli I'm a little iffy on - but I adore what my son called when he was little....vanilla broccoli (cauliflower!!!).

Like you said before about how food affects your body. If you feed your body crap, you feel like crap and (sometimes) look like crap as well. Today's fast paced take out society has almost forgotten the power of food. People are conditioned to think that if they are hungry they should stop at Taco Bell, or eat a bag of potato chips, or if you are tired have a monster energy drink.

It's funny about lentils...I never even had them in my life until about December...OMG - turns out I love lentils!! ha ha ha. I have a lentil concoction I make - sauteed onions in olive oil with garlic, cooked lentils, chucks of steamed carrots - topped with a little butter and hot sauce! OMG.

A few days ago...I tried barley. Holy smokes.....I love it!! You never know until you try something (before I only had barley via beer!!). I found out it's considered a super food! www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspic

Nice! I've been getting into making my own food now as well. I make really basic things (scrambled eggs with cheese and salsa) and eat fruit and broccoli for snacks. Broccoli with peanut butter on it is my current favourite lol. I've never tried eating a butt load of lentils, but now I'm thinking about making a chili with them!

Oh my gosh my hair and nails!! I have to file my nails down once every 2 weeks now!! Before they were so short and brittle.

I got the crap out of my diet. All processed foods...out. I started in October, and started noticing results in about December. By beginning of March, my hair looked the best it's ever been in my life. lol, I even sent a pic to someone who hadn't seen me in about 8 months, and their first reaction was "omg your hair"

I changed my diet to whole foods only. No white bread, no doritos, no sara lee, no little debbies, no frozen pizza, no soda, no fritos, no hotpockets, no cheetos, no stouffers frozen dinners, etc.

It's all whole food now. It's unprocessed food. Eating clean. If I read a label, and can't pronounce anything, I don't eat it. I kinda follow the 5 ingredient or less rule. I got out added (and unnecessary) sugar, sodium, and High Fructose Corn Syrup (which, sorry...no one on this planet can convince me that HFCS is healthy at all). I make my own food. Snacks are fruit or veggies or peanut butter (crazy richards) with apple or cheese. If I want cookies (???) I make them myself - I do not buy chips ahoy.

I also eat a butt load of lentils...but that can't be it...right? ha ha I think it's everything....which is whole foods.

So, that, plus drinking a ton of water a day 8 glasses, plus 4 cups of tea per day.

About 3 weeks ago I added in Pantothenic Acid, as well, which certainly hasn't hurt (relax folks, not telling any one to buy it...just saying what I take is all). I tripped saturday, kinda landed on my hand...and broke a nail...but only half the nail, not the whole thing. I just looked at the nail while typing, and I can't believe how much it's grown since then...

No no no on the teeth!! ha ha ha. I drank it with a ton of water..waited 15 mins then brushed - after rinsing well.

There is more than on chick here who said it fabulous for the hair, but I've always had dry frizzy hair, which I just got looking and feeling superb - due to the dietary changes I made...that's the only reason I am afraid, cause if it ain't broke, why fix it?

My cousin swears by it for dandruff - but I don't have that.

Be Careful with the teeth.
I think it can soften enamel---even if you rinse well, the enamel is still softened so brushing soon after can be harmful. Check with your dentist.

I saw somebody say it takes away stains on teeth, but that scares me. It makes me think it's just eating a layer of your teeth away!

Thanks Becky. I dilute it well. I saw issues about the enamel and will be taking that into careful consideration when ingesting.

I wondered about it being a scam, but what does somebody really gain out of telling you to pick up a bottle of the stuff at your local grocery store?

As I mentioned, I may never really know the benefits from it, but I will even take a placebo effect at this point :)

ha ha that's how I looked at it "What the hell...it's here, can't hurt!"

I do like it as a toner, though.

I've heard really good things about it with hair care, too - but I'm too chicken to try it!

Thanks for the reply! My original reason for picking it up was for the toner, so I am glad to hear it has worked for you. I just used it for the first time. I feel I will be in the same boat, as eating well and exercise will make it hard to know how much it works for weight loss, but it is cheap and I will take any benefit I can get!

It is very good :) I use it as a toner for my skin.

I did use it for about a month for weight loss (first month). I did lose weight. I also restricted my calories, lol, so I cannot vouch for it for weight loss.

A quick google search brings up a ton of good stuff about it.

Hello everyone,

I have heard a lot about Apple cider vinegar being an amazing health product for a plethora of reasons, and it can't stop reading about it. Has anybody tried using it either internally or external and had results? I am not looking for it to be a weight loss secret, but am more interested in the other health benefits.

Thanks!
