YIKES! No wonder I stay away from that place. One things I do before going to any restaurant is check out their menu and nutrition info on line. I don't always stick to what I planned to eat, but it helps. And if you enjoyed it! So what? It's only one meal and nothing that can't be accommodated during the week.

Regardless if some people act like that, I really value it when places have a few lower-calorie options. It takes all the guess work out of it for me, and I don't have to worry about leaving food on my plate, either. (Something that is still hard for me at times. I prefer to just give myself the right amount to begin with, and not go back for more. Much easier.) I can just eat it all and know it's a reasonable portion.
That said, you would not catch me dead in a Cheesecake Factory. Any place that thinks a 3000 calorie entree is in any way justifiable is not a place I want to give my money to.

I just read that having a healthy menu available (and separate) actually causes people to make the UNhealthiest choices. Something about vicarious virtuousness. Because you 'considered' the healthy option, it's OK to splurge.
No, the Cheesecake Factory is not geared towards people who care what they're shoveling in (Have you seen the size of the Long Island Iced Tea? Probably 800 calories right there).
Yikes! I try to check the nutrition info before I go. They don't seem to either provide it ormake it easy to find. Not sure what I would do. I had been wanting to go to Joe's Crab Shack. It's seafood. How bad can it be? Well, turns out it's bad enough that I no longer have any desire to go. Not only the calories but the sodium content is crazy! If I have no choice to go and have no info., I'll stick with a broiled plain seafood dish or a small sirloin or filet mignon. Those are my go-to meals. I have found that even a lot of salads are more than I bargained for.

Yup sounds about right lol You are probably missing the hidden oil/butter/cream in the soup. They add fat in everything and it beefs up the calories since 1 gram of fat has 9 calories.. I think? Or maybe there were even add ins that you didn't think about like croutons, cheese. IDK but I also think sausage has a lot more calories than chicken or shrimp because it's so fatty.
My logic of eating fast food or any sit down restaurant is look up nutrition facts before going and planning what to order (usually whatever I want) but knowing I'll have to cut it in half or sometimes even cutting into into fourths if it's a super high calorie meal to share with my boyfriend and/or take the rest home for another night.

It didn't say 0 protein, it said n/a (not available). They probably don't have to specifically calculate it. What a calorie bomb! Oh well, just drink a lot of water to flush it out of your system and move on, no big deal in the big scheme of life.
