I agree with making your own! Only takes a minute to fry an egg and throw on some cheese and then on to an English muffin or bagel thin or whatever. You can customize it, you know exactly what you're eating, lose all the preservatives, and no inconsistent temperature issues! I find the homemade versions end up being a lot fewer calories, too! --and a lot cheaper!

I was going to suggest making your own too! Seems much simpler, IMO. You do have to let the things sit after cooking to equalize the temps. Also, I've had some luck in microwaving by not using it at the highest setting. Cook it a bit longer at a lower setting. You get fewer "zones" that way. Does your sandwich come with instructions for an oven, or toaster oven? I really like that better anyway, since any breads don't come out so mushy. We have a convection oven we use for almost everything.
Experiment! You'll find what works best for you.

get a small non-stick frying pan, a package of english muffins, a box of eggs and the meat of your choice (I like frozen pre-cooked bacon, or "canadian bacon" rounds from the deli).
While the muffin toasts, heat the pan, shoot it with a spray of Pam (or a dab of butter or margarine). Drop in the egg, break the yolk. Let it set up. Flip.
By now, the muffin is done. Lay the cheese slice on one half. Lay the egg on top of the cheese. Heat up the meat briefly in the frying pan; put on top of the egg. Salt, pepper, BAM. 300 calories give-or-take, tastes better than anything you could buy from a frozen box or fast food drive through.
Once you do this a few times, you can make a whole breakfast sandwich from scratch in under 5 minutes. It actually takes longer to prepare a "convenience sandwich from the freezer"..... what with all the unwrapping and microwaving and turning and resting and re-microwaving due to gross frozen bits.......

most of these have instructions to microwave for x minutes and then let sit for y minutes. if you don't let them sit for y minutes, then they are boiling in a few places and frozen in others. the sitting for y lets the boiling parts finish heating the cold parts, thus cooling the boiling parts in the process. letting it sit for y minutes in the microwave without opening it yields a little better results imo. if your micowave doesn't have a turntable, you may also need to make sure to better center the sandwich and turn it a little more than called for.

I have tried a few of them but I cannot seem to find one that doesn't end up boiling hot but still frozen at the same time. The Weight Watchers sandwiches seem to turn out the best. Is there a secret to getting these cooked right or is there a better brand?
