For the past few months, I have noticed that skinny jeans and boots are tight on my lower legs at the end of the day. Yesterday I measured and realized that my calf measurement starts out at 13.5" around 8:00 AM and goes to 14" or 14.25" by 5:00 PM. It's only my lower legs - my thigh measurement stays the same.
The fact that they are swelling this much is disturbing to me. It also makes it difficult to get into my riding boots when I have evening horseback riding lessons! Is this swelling normal, or should I see a doctor about it? If this is normal, what can I do to lessen the swelling?
Info about me that might be pertinent:
- I'm 31, weigh 134 lbs, run 2-4 miles a few times a week and eat reasonably well, staying away from large amounts of sodium for the most part.
- I work a desk job 9-5 but am up walking to and from the copier, other offices, etc. throughout the day.
- I drink most of my daily 8 glasses of water at work.
- I walk 1 mile to work and 1 mile back home 5 days/week.
