I'm not really sure which you could call "healthier", but I prefer almond milk for sweeter things like baked goods or cereal, and regular skim for savory things like cheese sauces, for example. It's all personal preference.
I'm lactose intolerant and I get plenty of protein, so it's almond or coconut milk for me. I prefer that it has fewer calories - as long as you avoid the added sugar - and has calcium, which is important since I am lactose in tolerant and try to eat little dairy.

My kids drink skim milk - they are very active and still growing so they need the extra protein and calories cow's milk has. I use almond milk because I get enough protein in my diet and I don't need the extra calories.
I love the almond milk and drink that. I am vegan though, but I choose the almond milk over others because of the extra calcium, the taste, and because I can use "more" for the same amount of calories. For example, I like lots of milk in my cereal and with the almond milk I don't have to use lots of calories for putting in tons of milk!

I love the almond milk, specifically the 30 cal a cup variety, as I get more volume for less calories. I already get plenty of protein so that's a non-issue. One cup skim milk = 90 cal vs. the almond 30.
I can fill one of our tumblers near the top for 70 cal and it fills me up.
I've never seen much of a taste difference in the vanilla vs the plain flavor. Sometimes, I'll add a bit of Davinci's sugar free coconut syrup to change it up a bit.
I prefer skim cows milk, although I will use almond at times as a coffee creamer. My stomach doesn't agree with soy products so I need to avoid soymilk. Its a personal preference. As Dietitian Becky stated, cows milk is healthier. But its about choice.
I had the same question as you and here's how I answered myself . . .
I want the extra calcium that's in the almond milk BUT I still want protein that's in cow's skim milk. So I use both in different ways each. I'm not a milk drinker unless it's in cereal or cooked with. So I stick with cow's milk for those things. And when I make my smoothies and shakes I use almond milk. The only time I insist on it being cow's milk for a shake is with protein isolates after a workout. You really do need the casein & lactose for muscle recovery & rebuild. So they sit side by side in my fridge.

Most brands of almond milk have calcium added to them. By itself, almond milk doesn't contain near as much calcium as dairy milk and has very little protein. But it's an alternative for people who can't drink dairy milk.

I use coconut milk and my wife uses almond milk. They are both great. We were attracted to the extra calcium in each. Also, when my daughter comes over, these provide a good source for her as she is lactose intolerant.
Apart from that, I don't think there is a significant reason to choose one over the other.
