Great article, and I also loved that she addressed "woman workouts" that are completely ineffective and a waste of time, yet we're constantly fed that we should get rinkydink weights and do cute things with them, because woman. Nothing makes me more frustrated at the gym than seeing a woman set a machine to 5-10 pounds, and then doing 500 reps on that machine for the next half hour.
Back to the calories, it's funny how 1200 has become this "magic number" that is supposed to work for everyone. I'm 5'10" and even at the high end of 1500 I felt like I was going to starve to death. 1200 is completely unrealistic for me and many other people that aren't very small and very sedentary.
