there most certainly are superfoods. But as some other posters wrote- it depends on how you look at them. I don't consume them because they will help me lose weight or cure cancer. I love cacao, acai, and lots of others. I certainly don't consume them because of anything Dr. Oz or Dr. Phil may have said.
Just don't avoid foods because they've achieved fad status. I tried quinoa decades ago before the fad, and it's quite tasty cold or hot. I like it especially when someone else cooks it... So I splurge and get GoGo Rice's precooked quinoa bowls -really good by itself or mixed with lima beans, garlic, and a little oil (I'm partial to coconut oil). Also quinoa and sweet potato. Quinoa also makes good pasta blended with other things such as corn or rice. Is millet a fad yet? I've eaten that for decades. Just as fast to cook as white rice but much tastier.
Goji berries, I'm not so fond of. But dried mulberries are wonderful. So I'm glad for the superfood craze, makes a lot of tasty stuff easier to find. Likewise for the gluten-free thing, since I do better with a lot of variety (tendency toward food allergies) and wheat doesn't agree with me under stress.
I'm all for eating what you enjoy, and I've never had any interest in goji berries or quinoa. I do eat a lot of kale salads, though... Learn the nutritional content in what's in your food and meet those nutritional requirements. I do this via tracking.

Of course there are such things as "super foods" -- now, I don't buy into the miracle working properties some claim, but there are some foods that are very nutrient dense for your calorie buck, like avocado. When I think super food, I think super-health... not "cures cancer."
It is all marketing hype though. It's marketing I can get behind, though, as eating more fruits and veggies is a good thing.
The important thing is not to fall for the "this processed food contains superfoods" hype... Processing and drying usually destroys the nutritional content.

Yeah, I've always had a problem with "superfoods". It's all about marketing, right? Not that these foods aren't good for you. They might be. But they're not miracle workers. They're not going to do all the things they're advertised as doing.
