We have pretty tasty well water at our house. I usually drink out of a 16oz glass if I'm at the table, or a 32oz water bottle when I'm working out, in the car, or near the computer (ie anywhere a lid is desired). It's pretty rare that I get less than 10 cups over the course of the day, and if I hit the treadmill it's rarely less than 12. I basically just sip away all day.

I buy bottled water. My tap water tastes awful. I put 4 bottles on my kitchen table next to my computer and where I eat. I prefer it room temperature. I make sure I drink that plus I have 3 cups of coffee in the morning and will often have herbal tea mixed in during the day as well.

On work days, it is easy. I have always used the excuse of getting a cup of water in the kitchen to walk away from the desk and whatever I'm supposed to be doing there. I do this several times throughout the day. It also means I have to pee several times a day, and that means taking the stairs to and from the bathroom, and that's good too!
On the weekend, I have to be more deliberate about it. I keep my 12 ounce water mug very visible to remind me.
I have a 32 ounce water bottle that I take to work which I re-fill at least once (usually twice) during the day. The water filter system is quite a way from my classroom so as an added bonus i get some steps in!

I fill 2 gallon jugs of water and keep them in the frig. Everytime I'm thirsty or go into the kitchen I drink a glass down. I make sure by the end of the day at least one of those jugs is empty, sometime I go into the second jug. I refill them every night before I go to bed so I have a full jug to start the morning off.

I work from home so I have glasses everywhere! As soon as one is empty I fill it up and when I see my glass by the computer I automatically reach for it. By the TV or bedside, I reach for it. I now miss it if it isn't there! I still have problems carrying water away from home--buying bottled water is something I don't want to do, if possible. How do you get your 8 in?
