Actually, this isn't always the case in people with metabolic disease. Sometimes the body will cannibalize already thin areas in order to maintain fat around the core. I've lost several ring sizes and a shoe size, but even though I keep losing weight, my problem area still stays fat.
Hi Jen, thank you I would be happy to lose the require weight to get rid of these love handles, so possibly target goal of 8st 8 might the next goal. I have been snacking on Bananas, Oranges and Carrot sticks with Houmous lately. So if I eat pasta at about 6pm (4 hours before bed) this isn't a bad think? My husband makes a pasta dish with veg and a slim a soup and puts it in the oven to cook, such an easy dish, is that a good dish or is it best not to?
I always eat wholemeal bread and breakfast is mainly soy milk and branflakes. The rest of my body looks skinny!, then I have these two bumps! love handles! arghh what a pain in the a***.

There's no way to target fat loss to specific areas of the body. "Love handles" are a trouble spot for a lot of women, so you aren't the only one. We just tend to naturally carry extra fat there :)

I would start focusing on healthy food choices, and perhaps planning your meals ahead and eating on a regular schedule. That can help with those dips in energy level and will help you resist the temptation to just grab something when you get too hungry. Pasta (especially whole wheat) doesn't have to be the enemy. Your body doesn't know what time of day it is, so what matters most is how many calories you're taking in over the whole day, not when you're eating them.

Hi, I've had pcos since I was young and the fat seems to always hover around the top of my butt/back and hips. I'm so near my goal and I'm happy with the rest of my body but I'm having difficulty with the love handles...I'm a veggie so foods gets awkward sometimes.
I have started taking vitamin b complex and I hope this might help but eating lately has become a chore, I get hungry so I made and egg on toast, or I grab a biscuit to get me through. I do a work out fitness bender, the apartment workouts and I have neighbours and running in the winter hurts my lungs to the point I I didn't recover for 4 hours. I do weights, squats, planks push ups etc for about 30 mins every 2 days. I also work 4 hours in the morning where I am constantly on my feet and moving around.
Some advice would be great as I only have these love handles to rid but my energy levels are always low. I'm scared to touch pasta for evening meals as I have had it drilled into me it's bad to eat pasta at night. I guess my views are abit messed up and could use some advice to help me push through these barriers, especially the random energy dips and grabs for sugar!
I was on this site a few years back when I was 11st, I'm now 8.11 and my goal is to rid these bloody unsightly love handles that stick out. I would so love to wear my body on dress with confidence! Just once!
