In the first 1-2 weeks, many people have a faster weight loss.
Some is body fat, some is probably water----especially if you were using higher sodium foods and have cut back some.

If after about 2-3 weeks you still have this rapid loss, I suggest increasing calories by about 200-300/day

I belong to the bi-polar group, not for myself but for a friend that has been not on meds. :(

I do have a grandson that takes quite a bit of energy (dancing, playing etc), plus living in the north there is always work to be done (carrying wood, pellets, snow removal etc) I get in only about 10-15 minutes of core and strength workouts a day, although raking snow and ice off the roof is much more of a workout than any of the strength training videos LOL
It has been 8 days and I have lost 8 pounds, I feel fine and I am sleeping better than usual :)

a pound a day for how many days?
Is your range 1200-1550?
It looks like you are taking in about 1350-1450 daily.
Have you included your exercise plan into your program???
How do you feel: light-headed, dizzy, difficulty concentrating, excessive hunger,???

I had a wee peek at your Nutrition Tracker and note that your calories are mostly around the 1400 daily You don't indicate what exercise you do. IF you do a lot of exercise, then you will need to eat a bit more, and unless there are other circumstances involved, would be inclined to up the calories a bit, anyway to slow the loss down. Certainly, 1lb per day at your current weight is really too fast.

When I mentioned previously about 'other circumstances', I noticed that you belong to Bipolar and Depression teams. Have your medications been changed recently that may have something to do with this?

If over-exercise for the calories consumed isn't the cause, I would be inclined to talk with your Dr because sudden weight losses can often be a result of medical issues, such as Hyperthyroidism and Diabetes.

Good luck,
Kris

I have been following the SP program of healthy eating, which says I should lose 1 to 2 pounds per week. I have been losing about a pound each day. Is that still ok?
