One of the scientists who came up with NuVal, David Katz, wrote a book called Disease Proof. I read it and that's where I learned about NuVal (my grocery stores in DC don't have it). It sounded like a nice way to help us navigate the healthfulness of foods on the grocery store shelves. Let us know how you use it and if it helps!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share this awesome bit of news. My local grocery store (Reasor's) has started using this thing called NuVal. On the shelf tag of each food item is a little number (on a range from 1 - 100). The higher the number, the more healthy the food is ... it makes comparing food so easy! I'm just astonished something like this exists and that it's in use in OKLAHOMA of all places. The website has lots of info - for instance, the "healthiness" of a food was derived by some doctors in Connecticut. At any rate, I thought I'd share because it's just so neat!
