Like MANDIETERRIER1, I use it with coffee to make mocha. If I feel like having dessert, I take 1 serving of plain Greek yogurt, a tsp of Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa Powder (unsweetened), and a tsp of Splenda....it makes a great mousse, I'm going to try using the cocoa powder and make a spicy mole sauce for chicken...Haven't tried that yet.

I would need to see the studies on the whole "fat blocking" idea, but I use natural cocoa powder every day - simply because I like it!
I use it in rubs on pork or beef roasts (add a cherry wine sauce and it's fabulous), add it to my plain yogurt (along with a little sweetener, fruit, or nuts), make a hot cocoa every evening (skim milk, a little sweetener, and a couple Tbsp of cocoa powder), mix it with ricotta cheese for a chocolate-cheesecake type treat, add it to cottage cheese along with fruit, add it to my coffee if I want a mocha flavour, mix it in to my oatmeal (sometimes along with molasses or peanut butter), and add it in to all kinds of baking (love it with pumpkin or banana in muffins or protein bars).
The brand which I use right now is a Dutch-processed type, which has 15% RDA of iron per tablespoon, along with a lot of other vitamins and minerals. It is not sweetened, so is very bitter, but I prefer to be able to control which sweetener I add and how much.
To me, it's a "super-food" simply for the enjoyment I get out of it!

are you sure it was Cocoa and not Cacao? They are different. I use Cacao all the time. I get it at Whole Foods or other health food restaurants. There is no sugar whatsoever in it so it is extremely bitter, but I do tend to add it to smoothies and I also add it to my fiber bars that I make. It is supposed to be good for you, but I can't say whether it helped me lose weight or not. Truthfully I can't say if any of the Superfoods helped me lose weight, but I feel better consuming them.

I read an article in "First" magazine yesterday about using cocoa powder to help block and absorb fat. Does anyone use cocoa and can you give me more ideas on where to use it. And has it worked for you. Thank you.
