I understand what you mean about the calories for homemade food. It is tedious but like the others have said it is so easy for future use.

You can go to the sparkrecipes site and manually enter a recipe. It will calculate calories based on the number of servings you give it. I use it all the time and it makes tracking my custom foods soooo much easier.

How does a person count calories on homemade food? For instance, I made green chili today. I used pork loin, ground beef (which is very lean and grass fed..our own beef), green chili and chicken broth.
I think this is the main reason I don't count calories because I can't figure them out when I cook my own meals from scratch.
