I make berry "ice cream" all the time. Put frozen strawberries, raspberries and blueberries into a food processor, add some banana and a dab of yogurt (enough so it will mix) and voila "ice cream".

Frozen bananas with cream or milk can be made in a blender. Banana ice cream.

Or try this:

We can have ice cream, just not as often as we like, and maybe with a few healthy changes.

I have read recipes for 'banana ice cream' that say to freeze bananas and then just put them in the food processor or blender and smoosh them into ice cream.

Last night, I made my fruit slush (throw any fruit in the food processor with skin but no seeds or stems) using bananas, mangoes, granny smith apples - and basil. It's very good. I think from now on, I'm just going to throw handfuls of herbs in my slush because I grind up stems and all!
I had some of that walnut 'powder' left in the bottom of a bag of walnut pieces - so I threw that in, too. Not bad!

I don't have the patience to freeze, but I imagine you can freeze a slush and mash it into a sorbet.

I felt like i had discovered this fact but i'm starting to see reference to it on the TV. Ok, we can't have ice cream!!! but we are allowed fruit every day!!!!. what i did was mash my banana (with dots) to use it for a smoothie and froze it to save the banana( they are getting expensive)
I discovered that after it softened a little it tasted just like banana ice cream! then i started using this treat for my evening snack. sometimes i add a tbs of walnuts to it and it is awesome.
you can get very creative using either a half or whole mashed banana... enjoy... emoticon
