I think having the philosophy that "all cleanses are bad" is very limiting and does a disservice to this community. Cleanses can be a great way to push the "restart" button on healthy eating or jump starting a nutritional eating or diet program. I am not interested in doing a detox (not the same as a cleanse), just a short, healthy cleanse. I have done very strict Ayurvedic cleanses as well as "simple" cleanses in the past and felt GREAT during and after doing them. A healthy cleanse can be as simple as limiting your diet to healthy foods (fruits, vegetables, nuts/seeds, oils, beans) eaten whole as well as in blended smoothies (not juiced) . I was just hoping that SparkPeople would have a ready-to-go meal plan that I could incorporate into my Virtual Food Pro use. I will come up with my own plan instead.

The previous poster is correct that SparkPeople doesn't recommend any kind of cleanses. Your body is already very efficient at removing toxins, and cleanses can actually do more harm than good. They mess with the balance of healthy bacteria in your system, which can make you sick. The best way to cleanse is through a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Here's an article on this topic I'd recommend reading:

Hope that helps,

Sparkpeople does not support cleanses. I don't think you'll find what you're looking for here.

You don't have to eat the whole thing.

I am interested in doing a short cleanse (3-5 days). Does anyone know if there are any recipes or meal plans for cleanses on this site?
Thanks!
