I wish I could offer an alternative. Several years ago, I was drinking about 6 cups in one sitting. After chatting with my doctor, I I cut back on it and went from 2% to 1% milk. I probably drink 2 to 2.5 cups of 1% milk per day (7 days/week) and about 2 cups of low fat chocolate milk per day (5 days/week). I gave up soda's about 6 months ago and in that time I have only had a few to drink (traveling). I don't drink coffee or tea, so I either drink milk or water.
I find I need less 'good' milk than grocery-store stuff, so I buy a container of organic, non-homogenized (tho pasteurized) 'pasture-fed' milk every now and then. To my taste, the difference is remarkable, and my whole self (taste, need to over-consume, all of it) is satisfied with a much smaller amount. It's made me think about how, for me, a lot of over-eating is due to not being satisfied with the food itself, either because it's so over-processed or just plain not-food. Eating this way is more costly, but only in $$...I can live with that.

I've got a dairy allergy and a soy intolerance so my go to "milk" of choice is rice milk (since I can't touch coconut or almond again to do allergies) but I do sub in a max of 8 oz of soy into my daily intake of protein (the rest comes from non-meat sources).
I weaned myself from whole milk to 1% and drink about 2-3 8 oz glasses a day..good way to get calcium and extra vitaman D in my plan. I also use milk in coffee. This is a food I enjoy and include in my lifestyle.

I have an intolerance to cow's milk. My alternative is Soy Milk. My grandson who has a severe allergy to all dairy uses Rice Milk. Not all alternatives are the same. They all have different flavours and varying amounts of protein, calcium, fats, etc. Some need protein, calcium and Vitamin D added in. My Soy Milk, which is *LITE* has exactly the same calcium, protein and Vitamin D as our Trim Milk (cow's)
When I USED to drink cow's milk, I never liked the full fat milk, but used the next one down. I gradually mixed that with the lower fat version, and ended up just using the lower fat version.
As a caution, IF you are addicted to milk, and you consume heaps of it, as well as cheese etc., be careful that you aren't setting yourself up for Kidney Stones. My late husband used to consume them like they were going out of fashion. He ended up with 3 separate surgeries for very large kidney stones.
I stick with the cow stuff. The non-dairy versions don't have as much protein and I honestly think the taste is gross. Whatever I'd save in calories isn't worth it. Plus, I am allergic to soy products. I don't drink a lot of milk but when I do, I drink the regular stuff and 1% as I need the fat.
at 90 calories a glass, they will hardly add up. Try skim, and if you drink more than 3 glasses a day ( only 270 calories ), then maybe you really are " addicted ". The solution for addiction is abstinence.
I don't drink milk, because it is loaded with sugar, and if you are addicted, it is probably to all the sugar in milk ( 12 g a cup ).
