I eat a Granny Smith apple about 5 days a week as a snack as it satisfies cravings for sweet/tart/crunchy.
Some people on low carb diets avoid apples, I don't. I also eat them as a snack with a piece of cheese, (low fat string cheese), and it's about 160 calories for a great mid afternoon snack.
Anyway, if you look at the numbers, there are slight variations (not enough to bother me, it's about the taste for me), with sugars being the biggest:
Large Granny Smith:
Cals: 95 Carbs: 31 Dietary Fiber: 2 Sugars: 6
Large Red Delicious:
Cals: 130 Carbs: 34 Dietary Fiber: 5 Sugars: 25
