I like most types of apples, tart ones are my least favorite. I have an apple a day most days of the week. I eat them plain or with a dip consisting of Greek yogurt, peanut butter, cinnamon, and maple syrup. I don't eat them this way all the time, but if I want to put some protein with it, this is what I like.

I like to take a can of pineapple chunks and cut up two apples and mix it together. The pineapple juice keeps the apple from turning brown and it tastes really good. I usually use red delicious apples but I think I am going to try one red delicious and one granny smith the next time.
I was surprised to see the difference between red delicious and granny smith, I think I will start eating more granny smith.

I agree...I eat the Granny Smith...they seem to cut cravings....I know that there are over 50 different varieties of apples and Granny was right...An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away as they contain significant amounts of phenols and other flavonoids, which are powerful antioxidants that help protect against free radicals, and they are also associated with improved lung function and weight loss.
Total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol are both decreased through regular intake of apples. They also slow down carb digestion and reduces glucose absorption.

On the whole I guess they are pretty much the same, but the red ones would provide more nutrients based on that colour, and the green based on THAT one's colour. I don't think the difference would be much, tho'.
One thing I read a few years ago in a life-style segment in our newspaper is that SOME apples are more prone to affect our teeth negatively than others. The ones they said affected them were the ones I COULD eat because they didn't have so much effect on my GERD and were less likely to cause hives which had been a problem (from overdosing) The ones that the said were LEAST like to damage the teeth were the ones that were more likely to affect my GERD, and brought on hives quicker than the others.
I used to eat apples by the bucket load. Like around 8-10 A DAY, along with lots of other fruit. Now I eat apple most days, but often not a whole one. I cut them into pieces and have a piece of apple at a time.
