I had exactly the same "shock" as you - I ate healthy foods and did a lot of home cooking, but when I actually started measuring and tracking, 2500-3000 calories a day was the norm for me. I also thought I was just having "one serving" of something because I didn't go back for seconds, but my one serving was more like 4 or 5!

Do something everyday that your future self will thank you for.

The first thing for me it was the classic American portion distortion. :(

Shocking.

Second was junk food calories, fats and carbs. I mean, yeah..I knew it wasn't the best food (hence the name), but it wasn't until I really started to look at labels (and using my tracker) that I really realized just how little bits of that crap food (not even to mention the ingredients) impacted my weight in a negative way.

You are not fat. You have fat.
You also have fingernails. You are not fingernails.

When I initially lost weight, I didn't regularly make great food choices and didn't measure. I just ate when I felt like it. I worked part time at Starbucks and would bring home left over bakery. Dumb. emoticon A store bought scone or muffin is a great treat on occasion but not every week or a few times a week.

Since I've started tracking and "limiting" my eating, I noticed I've been eating around 3,000 calories/day. NO WONDER I've put on weight!! When you all started tracking, what was the biggest "shocker"? Did you notice you ate too much, too little, or incorrect proportions?

Nothing changes if nothing changes.
