You might also look into Primal nutrtition. That's less restrictive on dairy.
Grains -- those are tabu on many dietary plans.
Lots of veggies and moderate amounts of fruit are fine for Paleo, Primal, and most restricted-carb lifestyles.
Meats of any (unprocessed) kinds are fine, in any quantity. I've found that I'm far less dependent upon meat now, but that's not because there's any restriction of it.
Starchy (sugary) veggies are limited, but that's still not to say you can't have them; you can use them in moderation, or alternate with sweet potatoes ... lots of LCers use cauliflower as a potato substitute. I can't eat cruciferous veggies, but I've seen some pretty yummy-looking concoctions of mashed and casserole dishes made with cauliflower instead of potatoes.
Any dietary change is, of course, going to be a "change"! You might find that some of those changes will be ones you really like, but have never had the instigation to sample. This might be that time.
