They used to give you 15 points for tracking 3 meals a day too, but now you would need to enter 15 foods to get them, so most days I only get 11-12 out of 15 points. I eat lots of food, so I think this sucks, but it IS just points. Just track, either with favorites, or groupings, and whatever points you get, you get. Over time, you will find that points add up pretty quick. I am almost to my 3 year Sparkversary, and will probably be at Level 20 by then, without even trying that much, except when I started. I tried for 100 points a day, and just burned out, reading articles, huddling etc.
I found I was putting way too much effort into point-getting, than actual dieting and exercise..lol. Points are nice, but health is even nicer.

I'd have to agree, that I want the convenience of using the "Grouping" function, more than the points. There's so many other ways to get points, and the points aren't really "getting" you anything anyway-- it's mostly just for fun. The bottom line is that tracking your food every day WILL help you lose weight. I'd have to say it was the number one most helpful thing, with my loss.

I didn't realize that, but after crazily trying to get points for a while, I decided I was wasting my time--what are they actually for, anyway?--and have quit worrying about points or, usually, even noticing how many I have. It's very freeing.
I'd rather have the convenience of using groups when I can than picking up more points.
I just discovered after being on Spark for a few years that using the group function in the food tracker only credits you with 1 point for tracking. Didn’t use the tracker very much in the past but thought if I’m starting anew I might as well use it to track my calories. So why use grouping function to save time when you’re not going to get credit for all the items in the group?
