I never "diet" on a Holiday. I have some of everything including dessert and enjoy the day. I also eat a very lite breakfast and lunch before the main holiday meal ( we eat about 5 or 6 pm) so I don't feel famished by dinner. Leftovers, well after taking the rest of the meat off the turkey, I place most in a foil baking pan along with the drippings and gravey in a foil baking pan for a quick and easy Sunday dinner at another time. Leftover mashed potatoes, and green beans, etc were also placed in freezer containers along with the turkey. I placed some of the drumstick, bones, wings,, neck in a pot and made turkey broth adding some chopped celery and scallion onion tops. This will be todays dinner along with salad.

No, I ate until there was no more "real estate" in my gastrointestinal tract to accommodate the day's ongoing feasting! We had a memorably great time, too. But I am right back on track today and will stay that way until Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. From past experience, I'll still maintain my weight.
I went over about 350 calories on Thanksgiving , but then walked 3 miles. I enjoyed the meal with my family but made good decisions on what I ate and my portion size. I treated myself with a small piece of apple pie too.
I'm sure I went over, but I decided not to track on Thanksgiving. Probably if just the actual meal was counted, I was fine. But, there were snacks, punch and most of all, pies. I'm not worrying about one day.
Back on track today--it's a 'low' day for me, and it feels kind of good not too feel so full.

I didn't track today because it was just too difficult (and since I'm in maintenance now, I don't worry about the occasional non-tracking day), but there is no way I was within range. No worries, though--I've eaten at the low end of my range the rest of this week, and probably will for a few more days, so it will all balance out at the end.
I just got all my results from my first week. I stayed in range calorie wise but ... i thought i was doing so good making my healthier choices and well balanced. I have always been well balanced dietarily. Well so i thought. i ran my reports and im too low in protein and too low in carbs. my calories are great and so are my fats. i know i should be happy but im not smiling or frowning feel like scratching my head with and errrr for some reason i dont feel i did so good
I was shocked with all i ate i was was within my daily calories. I actually have more to go if i want 70-420 but the day isnt over yet. i actually for once in my life the first time ever turned doen my moms home made dutch apple pie.. .ive never done that before
