I'm going to go with what the previous poster said and check with what the spark range recommends for you. If you are 289 pounds now it seems a bit low to me, but I would go with what spark recommends.

You can take my advice like a grain of salt. I'm not an expert nor am I good at recommendations but I'm just throwing my opinion out there anyways. I believe the minimum in calories a male should consume a day is 1,500. Supposedly you should have a 500 calorie deficit between your exercise and your intake. I don't know if you've plugged your exercise and goal weight into SparkPeople yet or not but you might want to start with that - they are pretty accurate!

Also, this is the calorie for weight loss calculator that I think is most accurate out of the 4-5 I've tried if you want to take a look for an estimate: www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculat

Just looking to get some feed back. Im part of the Army National Guard and seriously need to get back into shape. I was 310 on Nov 3rd and currently weigh 289.2. I have planned on taking in about 1800 calories a day. I have found myself falling short on several days. I am working out at least once a day sometimes twice a day. Alternating between cardio/weights/running.
Is my calorie range ok for such a schedule. Im not hungry but I worry about going to low. Thanks for your advice. Rock
