I like Jay Robb's whey protein the best. I did research on how to choose best and most common advice was "be able to pronounce ALL the ingredients". His is more expensive, of course, but the list of ingredients is short and sweet. :-) I'm worth it!

Is it tomorrow already?

I've used Nectar, Spiru-lein and Unjury. Having spent three weeks on a liquid protein diet before surgery, I tried many of them. Some tasted chalky no matter what I did and others were fine.

Isagenix is the best, in my opinion. :) If you've hit a plateau, it's the best for breaking it. I haven't lost weight since I turned 50. Started Isagenix in July and bam!! It did the trick.

I love he Designer Whey™ powder. I mix mine in either almond, coconut, or a blend of these milks. The directions say to use water, and that's okay... I just like the additional smoothness of the milks.

I use Isagenix protein shakes. (Check our our SparkTeam page). It's a meal replacement. Doesn't taste chalky, mixes up thick, so I don't have to add anything. The taste is great. It's all natural, so not overly sweet, which is what I like. It's has really helped me break through my plateau. I like that I can get the added protein that I need, without all the added calories.

Lady K,

Does your smoothy have a chalky "taste" or a chalky "texture"? if it has a chalky or powdery texture, then you aren't blending it long enough. Try increasing the amount of liquid in your smoothy.

If it has a chalky taste, then it may be expired or a bad batch. Return it and get another container.

Good luck on your journey.

Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels and looks.

That is so strange because I am using it pretty much exactly the same way that you do. I mix it with almond milk, spinach or kale, and assorted fruits. Maybe I should try blending it for awhile with the almond milk first, before adding the fruits and veggies.

I've used that in the past and didn't find it chalky at all - I mix it with coconut or almond milk and add fresh and frozen fruit to it along with chia and spinach. I've read that the Garden of Life Organic Raw Meal can be chalky but haven't seen many complaints about the Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein. Have you tried the Garden of Life Raw Fit Organic protein powder? That's what I'm using now and really like it.

I just started using a protein powder in my smoothies. I'm using Garden of Life's Raw Vanilla Powder. The taste is ok, but always gives a chalky taste no matter what I mix it with. It is bearable, but I would rather not have it if there are other options. Should I expect this with all protein powders? What brands does everyone use and how would you rate the taste?
