If you are talking about tsunami aftermath, I started finding Japanese debris on the Oregon coast last year. I no longer live on the beach, but I still eat seafood a couple of times a week.

Dances: salsa (standard/LA), casino, rueda de casino, cumbia Colombiana, bachata, mambo, cha-cha-chá, merengue, reggaetón.

Currently learning: Mexican cumbia, danzón, Cuban rumba

Dances to Learn in the future: flamenco, tango Argentino, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, ballroom rumba

It's a god awful shame the havoc this is going to wreak on the ocean's ecosystem. I definitely understand the concern. It is something I am keeping tabs on when it comes to our own fish but I'm not alarmed as of yet.

I realize that mainstream media is largely not reporting this, but that doesn't mean it's not happening. They're also not reporting that the cleanup could legitimately wipe out life in the northern hemisphere.

What's wrong with it? Pacific salmon from Canada don't migrate from Japan. Unless there's something else I'm missing. As far as I've read, the contamination hasn't reached our shores yet and our fish are being tested for contamination. Our food guidelines would not allow radioactive fish to be sold. Even David Suzuki our resident environmental scientist whistle blower feels safe continuing to eat our fish.

3-4x a week. Sometimes more. Love fish and seafood. I like tilapia, pickerel, perch, haddock, basically any white fish. My favourite fish is Atlantic salmon but I'll settle for Pacific.

Hi Michelle!

I try to eat a serving of salmon and one of herring every week, and sometimes I "splurge" a little on smoked oysters. When the farmer's market is in season, whatever locally sourced stuff we can find (thank goodness we're close to Gloucester!)

I keep an eye on gotmercury.org and the Monterey Bay sustainability site to inform what I purchase...

Love fish!
(I'm allergic to bivalve shellfish, though; except the smoked oysters, oddly!)

My son was pesco from ages 5-15!
