I've been wheat/gluten/grain free for around 6 years at this point too, and feel much better for being so. One of the many nice benefits I've noticed since avoiding wheat is how improved my dental health has been. I think I used to develop cavities just looking at a piece of candy or piece of pizza. Now, after avoiding wheat, I typically receive good dental grades. With that said, saw the dentist today and was told an old filling needs reworking. I'm not looking forward to seeing the drill.

I have been for about 6 yrs now due to an allergy to it. I don't get sick anymore like I used to. Weight loss - no... but feel better.

I am gluten free and have been for the last 2 years although I have never been formally diagnosed with celiac disease. My doctor and I agree that it is not necessary to get a formal diagnosis though costly and invasive testing as I feel so much better and have noticed many health improvements since I stopped eating gluten. I am also grain free 90% of the time.

* my chronic constipation (since I was a small child) is gone
* my painful, bloated, gassy stomach pains are gone
* my keratosis pilaris has improved
* my joint inflammation has improved/gone
* my mucus production ie. constant runny nose has improved
* my blood glucose numbers are consistently low

My 8 year old son has been suffering from migraine headaches for the last few years. They had started increasing in frequency and severity in the last few months. He would get a horrible headache for hours that wouldn't go away until he threw up violently, this was happening 2x a week. Three weeks ago I removed gluten from his diet and he hasn't had a headache since. Coincidence? Time will tell I guess.

I am gluten free because I have celiac disease. It hasn't helped me at all in terms of weight loss or gain. I feel so much better now though! I've been GF for 4 years.

I am not but too of my sisters are due to serious gluten allergies. Personally, I believe in moderation.

I'm not gluten-free but we have gluten-free products in our house. Why? My mom isn't gluten-free either but she chose to. We've both lost 20+ pounds at the same rate. Despite that though, I have nothing against gluten nor do I think it's necessarily good for you. And I also think it depends on the individual's body. My mom's friend is celiac-disease and therefore needs to be gluten-free. She can't even have wheat in the same bag with her food! She has tried losing weight and is doing so at a good pace. She has told me though that she had heard people say since they got off gluten they have developed stronger immune systems.

I'm gluten-free, grain-free and low-carb, all things that have done nothing but good for my health.

Weight loss (achieving a healthier weight) has been shown to provide great improvement with reflux.

Glad you are feeling better with your new body.

I am not gluten-free, but avoiding wheat as I am all processed and high-glycemic grains.

A quick search on "gluten" in teams brought up three teams, if you are interested in connecting with folks on the same plan!

Gonna be honest. I never lost much weight until I stopped eating gluten.

I've lost 43 pounds since January, and I started gluten free eating in December. I will likely never eat gluten again, haha. No more acid reflux or stomach cramps. Yay!
