A 200 lb woman can lose 5 lbs, and a 400 lb man would have to lose 10 for them to hit the same percentage, so while it may not be a huge number, smaller people don't have a disadvantage on the show. I believe Ruben lost 5 lbs, and went home instead of Tanya, who lost 3.
The only problem is when smaller people start expecting double digit losses. Their focus should be on percentage , not total pounds lost. I am down over 160 lbs total, but it is 45 % lost. A 210 lb woman getting down to 115, would be just as hard, and they should be just as happy, even if their total loss is just 95. They won't lose double digits most likely in any week along the way to 115, and shouldn't expect to. Plus that person is most likely at goal weight, and I am not, so they should even be happier than I am.
As far as Jillian giving caffeine pills. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a ploy to get Ruben back, and increase ratings. Her reasoning was that they were drinking caffeine, which upped their calories, so a pill form, got them the caffeine, without the calories. My only concerns would be, did the pills have more caffeine than the coffee/tea, and if so, was it really enough to burn extra weight off, and give them an unfair advantage. Number two: why do they need caffeine at all. If they are really trying to make them healthier, then shouldn't they wean them off caffeine completely?
