OK this is going to sound weird, but try visualization. Picture yourself and imagine yourself eating the craved food, in great detail. It often works.

Oh those darn cravings! I consider myself to be a very fit and healthy person, but I still get cravings with the best of 'em. :) I think the other people had great suggestions. I did want to add something that really helped me with my cravings.

Do you keep track of protein, carbs, and fats that you eat everyday? I used to just pay attention to calories. As soon as I started focusing the above nutrients I realized I wasn't getting near enough protein. Within a couple days of getting it under control my salty cravings went away and I felt so much more energized.

Of course I still mess up from time to time, but this helped in a big way! I just thought I would add that in there along with the other great recommendations. Just keep your head up and push forward. No use dwelling on the past. This is a lifestyle! :)

Don't keep the craved food in your home, work place, etc.
If you do want some of the food--get a single serve portion. For example, go to the ice cream store and get 1 single scoop vs buying a gallon of ice cream and having it at home.

You'll start to notice that you have the worst cravings mostly when you're upset.
First, try not to have in hand bad snacks and only buy healthy snack replacements (almonds, honey, cashew nuts, bananas, etc).
Also have them at home, at work or with you in your bag. If the craving is so bad, it's better to overeat bananas or almonds than a whole chocolate or an entire ice cream box.
Also, when the craving hits, try to do something physical to forget about it.
Walk a bit, don't stand in one place.
Also, drink an entire glass of tea or water.
It you still crave for something, try the healthy substitution.
Many times you'll give in to your cravings but don't feel bad about it.
Step by step (and not over night) you'll adjust and you won't give up that easy anymore.
But remember that nobody has a 100% success rate when it comes to cravings. NOBODY!

Does anyone else experience cravings? Most of the time is small, and I can knock it away without any trouble... But other times.. It's like I become the hulk, and need the craving or I'll destroy the city... Ok maybe not that bad, but I do get into a really bad mood, and at that point it seems like nothing will work until I satisfy the craving. Any tips for bad cravings?
