Hi there -- yes I splurged last year and signed up with Herbal Magic. I am done as of today but yes I did lose 45 lbs and am still losing oz by oz. The supplements they use are blends of herbs and vitamins and minerals you can buy individually at retail stores. You won't find their blends there though. You can buy from HM but the bottles are very very expensive. One of the items used to cut cravings is fibre pills. They also instruct you to drink 8 glasses of water per day. For me this really helped me feel ok while still cutting back my food. Morning pill includes green tea extract to jump start your metabolism.

Drink 8 glasses of water a day!

I would say absolutely no to diet pills. They do nothing but mess up your metabolism .

I take Cayenne pepper pills. The capsaicin they contain is supposed to increase metabolism. I don't know if they work, but they are cheap. They can cause a stomach ache if taken without food, though.

No no noooo! They're nothing but a huge waste of money and they can be dangerous. And in those ridiculous commercials in the fine print it will something along the lines of "to be used with a healthy diet and exercise" - hello! I think it's safe to say that the majority of SparkPeople members who have had success with weight loss did it the old fashion way - healthy diet, exercise, no pills. Take that money you'd use to buy diet pills and put it towards healthy groceries, a gym membership, new workout clothes, etc!

Tempting but dangerous. Plus if you do lose weight on them, I'm afraid it will come back once you stop the pills.

Blessings,

No. I didn't use diet pills. Most are scams or detrimental to health and are putting a band-aid on a broken leg. I changed my lifestyle to one that is healthier.

Sparkpeople does not support the use of diet pills/supplements. They focus on lifestyle changes to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. You are not likely to find many people with "success with diet pills" at least no one that managed to keep the weight off.

I agree with Slimmerkiwi. When you are already a healthy weight it's not weight loss that will give you a good body, it's body fat percentage and muscle building. If you are looking to cure problem areas then you need proper nutrition and a weight training program.

"Toning" is marketing muscles to women who are afraid if they pick up a barbell, they'll leave the gym looking like She-Hulk. It doesn't happen, what does happen is you get results. Lifting Barbie weights does nothing but waste time.

I wouldn't take diet pills even if prescribed by a doctor. Fen-phen anyone?

They are not helpful, often end up being extremely harmful and they just aren't a healthy way to live.

Don't waste your money.

Hi DANIBEV - I haven't used 'diet pills' and nor would I recommend them. To lose weight you need to learn healthy eating habits, which includes a healthy range.

Below is a link regarding Weight loss supplements/pills etc:

When I see the photo of you, I see a beautiful young woman who is very slim. I note you weight-loss goal on your Weight Ticker. I am wondering if that is YOUR goal because to me it looks like you are about the right weight now. Sometimes it isn't really weight-loss that is needed, but instead if anything, muscle toning. They are different things.

I've only had success recently with Isagenix. Be careful what you use.

I don't recommend any of them. I tried them and they don't work

Made it to my maintenance weight of 125 pounds.

Even though I have reached goal. I still don't know everything about weight loss.

No I do not use diet pills or any of the so-called weight-loss-promoting supplements.

No I would not recommend ANY of them.

The main ingredient in virtually ever single one is False Hope. They are almost universally shams and scams designed to part you from your money with the tempting promise of losing weight.

Goal 1 - break 200 (46 pounds lost)**DONE**
Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE**
Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)
