We think water tastes bad when we switch to it from drinking pop, but within 3-4 weeks any dietary habit will change. Stop drinking sugar, and switch to water, and plain tea.coffee, with only lemon or such for flavor if necessary, and a month from now, you will only crave those fluids.
The body clears out the sugar, and we get used to what we eat. We adapt. The same can be used to get rid of salt in your food. Sure, it may taste bland for 3-4 weeks, but if you abstain from added salt, you will notice then that most food is salty, and you no longer need salt. If you then eat a salted dish, you may even notice that it makes your lips tingle/burn, depending on how much is added.
