I have found that drinking glasses of water is hard but bottles of water is a lot easier. Keeping the water bottle with me and having water in the car gets me over the 8 cups pretty easy. It becomes the habit when it is easy. Similarly we got away from pop by not keeping it cold. Having to get a glass and ice seems trivial but when you can just reach and have a cold water, water will usually win and boom you made a good choice.

I have a water bottle that holds about 24 oz of water. I allow myself a cup of coffee in the morning then nothing else until I drink 3 glasses of water for every tea or coffee I drink I have to drink 3 glasses of water. I don't keep sodas, juice or fruit drinks around so those aren't a regular problem for me.

I like to drink my water throughout the day. Most of the time I drink it cold because it takes longer to digest and if you want to be picky, it takes more calories to digest. My intake is around 64oz of water a day but some people like to take height and weight into consideration. When it's cold I'll drink hot water or hot tea that is unsweetened. But that's just me. I pretty much just drink water, unsweetened tea, or plain coffee.

Yes you are right, I am only drinking water, although do not know how I will cope when it gets very cold.

We think water tastes bad when we switch to it from drinking pop, but within 3-4 weeks any dietary habit will change. Stop drinking sugar, and switch to water, and plain tea.coffee, with only lemon or such for flavor if necessary, and a month from now, you will only crave those fluids.

The body clears out the sugar, and we get used to what we eat. We adapt. The same can be used to get rid of salt in your food. Sure, it may taste bland for 3-4 weeks, but if you abstain from added salt, you will notice then that most food is salty, and you no longer need salt. If you then eat a salted dish, you may even notice that it makes your lips tingle/burn, depending on how much is added.

I drink about 15-16 cups on average a day. I fill my water bottle over and over. When I started, 8 cups was a serious challenge. :)

I said to my husband the other day that the more water I drink the more I want it.
It's not thirst, it's just become a habit - it tastes good!!!

it's just habit for me to have water near me all day- and i drink it all day! as long as it's out of habit and not excessive thirst it's fine!

Current goal:
- 32 by end of April.

Next goals: -
39 total by end of May.
-46 by end of June.

Healthy choices and actions have positive impacts, even if the scale doesn't move!

I fix my first glass of ice water at breakfast and start after I finish my lemon green tea. By lunch I am ready for my next two glasses so my bedtime I have finished my 8 for the day. It has simply become a daily routine. I also take my water if I go out in the car...works well. I seldom drink anything else these days, occasionally 1% milk.

When I joined I was finding that drinking 2 litres was really difficult, but now if I have the time to drink it early on in the day, I want to drink more.......what else have others found?
