I've had good Stevia-sweetened root beer, but I don't remember the brand. The store that I got it from stopped carrying it, unfortunately. It came in a beer-type bottle.

I think that such things are fine as occasional treats, but they probably shouldn't be an everyday habit or used to replace drinking water.

I say give it a try and use it as a special treat when you're really craving a root beer.

You could try one and see....

I tried a stevia-sweetened cream soda last summer. That did NOT go well. I think the trick with stevia-sweetened drinks is to make sure they are icy-icy-icy-cold. And even then... well. You'll know once you try one, whether you like stevia or not. I personally found it to be way too sickly-sweet. And this coming from a person who actually likes cream soda, root beer and other notoriously oversweet flavours.

I say it is still soda, so it should be avoided.

There is a brand of pop (soda) called honesty drinks that is being advertised now. I looked into it a bit, and they are a 0 calorie soda, that is also organic. They are available at natural food stores, and I am thinking about giving it a try. Has anyone else tried them? I really miss root beer, and they have a root beer that is sweetened with Stevia so I am very curious about it.
