I don't restrict any foods but I track everything honestly and accurately, even restaurant meals.

If I fancied ice cream now I'd buy a small individual tub. That's a huge statement coming from me..... pre-SP, I'd often eat a whole litre of rich ice cream in a day......now I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole...........that's what SP does to you!!

YOU can do it.......if you WANT to!!

Sparkling good wishes to all sparkfriends Mia

Yeah, pretty much everybody probably. I'm lucky that the whole thing has been relatively easy for me, but I've still had some patches where after a day or two I'm suddenly thinking "WHAT have I been doing?" and I need to make an adjustment.

One thing you might want to do is to stop the half dinners! I don't mean eat more. I just mean get yourself a smaller plate so it doesn't look like "half" and you don't think of it that way. It's a full dinner, your whole dinner, right? Just an appropriately sized one for your current needs. And maybe -- if you're not a person in whom it will trigger binges, and if you do actually desire to have things like ice cream in your routine -- actually plan for them, just not so often or as much as you know will cause problems. You don't outright say that you're having trouble with feeling deprived, but the whole/half thing and the ice cream suggest that maybe you are.

Regardless, just do what you need to do right now, before "slipping" become a habit.

I did that and plateaued. I recommitted myself, tightened up my tracking and gave myself a new fitness challenge. Knowing that I would have to track all my 'slip ups,' cleaned up my eating.

LOL. It happens so much it is a cliche.

I have eaten low carb for 53 months now, and lost 159 lbs. 19 of that was in the past 2 weeks. I lose very easily, but we all stray sometimes, and we have quick losses, and sometimes quick gains. The result is just 3 lbs a month average, but if you just keep re-starting again, you eventually get to your goal. The trick is to limit how long your off plan phases last, and get back on track for the very next meal, instead of taking a 3 day tour of gastronomic delights.

Most people restart multiple times a year. The only failures are those who quit completely.

I think it happens to all of us now and then! But once you slide down that slippery slope it is hard to get back, so try not to let it go too far!

Something that might be really helpful for you is to start a SparkPage (even if you don't put much on it) so that people can add you as a friend and support you here!

Good luck.

It happens like that sometimes. But you can always start doing well again. You don't have to wait until the next day or for the next week.. Just do it.

It sounds, at least, like you aren't eating crazy- just "normal". When I first started and would go off my plan, I would eat crazy things and way too much. I would go to a party and eat tons of chips and dip and have two slices of cake. Now when I slip up, it's usually with healthy or situational food items, and I eat at a maintainence range. I will have seconds of A healthy but higher in calorie meal, or I will eat a normal amount of foods and desserts at a party- like some chips and guacamole and a cookie.

I just tell myself that I am preparing for the day when I have to maintain.

I don't know, I am not really doing badly but the last couple of weeks I have been
having an ice cream sandwich here, a whole dinner (instead of half like I usually do)
an extra snack there. Will I am not putting on weight I am not losing it either. I have to
take ahold of myself and renew my resolve to do better. Anybody else ever do this?
