I do smoothies most mornings, otherwise oatmeal. My smoothies are made up up berries, spinach, protein powder and almond milk. My oatmeal usually has honey and raisins on it.

At home on the weekends, I've been stuck on Oatmeal Pumpkin pancakes or scrambled eggs.

eggs eggs eggs i have been enjoying lots and lots of eggs. i have branched out from "eggs and toast" though... what I find I really enjoy is sauteed veg (any kind, really), once the veg are soft, scramble in 2 eggs. Sometimes I'll top with a bit of parmesan cheese, or a scoop of salsa. I do not miss the toast. It's not exactly a "conventional breakfast" but I find I really like a savory breakfast now, and it keeps me full a long time.

Yogurt and fruit with raw oatmeal mixed in, left to soak overnight ("overnight oats"). Makes the yogurt just a bit more "sustaining" and adds a nice texture... it's a great base from which you can add any sort of fresh or frozen fruit - i never get sick of this, as I change my fruit along with the season.

don't be afraid to delve into "last night's leftovers" either! Who says you can't have leftover soup or some chicken and butternut squash or *whatever* you have on hand! I have found that "breaking out of the meal 'rules' " has been very enjoyable and liberating, adding a lot of variety, interest and satisfaction to my Food Life.

My breakfast lately has consisted of two hard boiled eggs and a banana - perfect for being on the run....and no additives! I make a batch of eggs for the week and I'm good! I always feel really great afterwards and it keeps me satisfied until lunch. If I'm extra hungry I'll add a slice of whole grain toast.

HOWEVER.....

One of my usual go to's is an egg scrambled with a wedge of laughing cow and then wrapped in a small flour tortilla. And of course....a banana.

I LOVE BREAKFAST!!! I just have to have something savory, otherwise I feel like I'm missing something.

Laura

If you like cereal or waffles could you pick whole grain ones? Then pair it with a protein such as yogurt and berries to your waffle? Whole grain cereal such as bran flakes, milk, banana?
I like oatmeal as well and it can be made in different ways to not get bored.
Eggs and toast and you can add some veggies in there
English muffin with cottage cheese and cinnamon

I'm always in a rush in the morning so I do as much breakfast prep as possible in advance. I just cooked up a batch of muffins using seven-grain flour, ground flax seeds, pumpkin puree, chocolate protein powder, egg whites and chocolate-covered cacao nibs, which I'll eat for breakfast last week. I often make batches of healthy muffins or pancakes on the weekend to eat during the week.

If I don't cook in advance on the weekend my go-to breakfasts are smoothies (frozen fruit, a bit of milk or soy milk, a bit of juice and some fat-free Greek yogurt) or cereal (I look for cereals that are high in protein and fiber, and low in sugar).

Female, 5'4". Weighing in on the first weekend of the month.

I've lost the weight- and kept it off- using Spark in the past. Lost my nutrition and fitness groove after a car accident and re-gained... but not for long!

Always looking for new Spark Friends... add me!

My fave right now is 1/3 cup of brown rice, 1 scrambled egg, and 1/3 of the box of Green Giant fresh steam broccoli with cheese. Yummy and filling and about 215 calories. You get your carbs, protein and veggies!

Oh and I because I make it up for 3 days at a time because of the box of broccoli and cheese. Just pop it in the microwave!

Instead of pancakes and waffles, try egg crepes.

I am not a big breakfast lover, but these are my go-tos:

Smoothie: 1 c. frozen fruit, 2 T protein powder, 1 c. milk or yogurt

Veggie scramble: 1/4 c. each chopped onions and peppers, sauteed, mixed into 1 egg + 2 egg whites, scrambled. Serve with a sprouted grain tortilla.

Whole wheat (high-fiber) bread with 1 T peanut butter and a sliced banana

Good luck finding things that you enjoy!

I am a known carb junkie when it comes to breakfast, cereal, waffles, pancakes you name it! I recently tried eating blueberries and yogurt instead but now that's getting boring. Whats your favorite better for you breakfast?
