TORIPHIL: Sounds like a good plan, as long as you can afford it. Sometimes eating whole foods can be a bit expensive, but well worth it, I'm sure.

One thing about "packaged" foods, such as packaged fruits and vegetables. Although, generally, it would be nice if we could all get our fruits and vegetables from our own orchards or gardens, or from farmers' markets that only sell fresh items, that is not possible for many of us. Thus, one needs to carefully compare fruits and vegetables that have been sitting on store shelves and tables with flash-frozen fruits and vegetables that are "packaged." Studies have shown that flash-frozen fruits and vegetables can be healthier than so-called "fresh" ones.

Most of my diet is whole foods, the only things in packages are dairy products and pasta. Another way of thinking about it is to shop the perimeter of the grocery store, so fresh fruits veg, meat, and diary. If I am in need of quick things occasionally I will get some frozen vegetables but they don't have additives.

I've tried it and it really feel good. You eat whole foods only nothing wrapped and nothing processed. Suppose to help you detox...I'm not 100% sure it does but what I do know is that I'm really eating well but on my "whole food" only days, I feel I've increased my healthy eating three folds.
