SPARKYFLOWER : It has been suggested to me by both doctors and physician assistants to take a multivitamin daily. I take Equate-Mature Multivitamin 50+. A couple of my relatives who, in my opinion, take too many supplements and vitamins, suggested that the Equate brand is not as good as "name brands." This is what LESLEY ALDERMAN in the "New York Times Health" section stated, "In a recent test of multivitamins, ConsumerLab.com found that Equate-Mature Multivitamin 50+ sold by Wal-Mart was just as good as the name brand Centrum Silver, but at less than a nickel a day is half the price."

Since I get a lot of sunlight in my walking, I do not take the vitamins with the extra Vitamin D in them. But at my age, otherwise, the doctors would be recommending that I do take extra Vitamin D.

I take a multivitamin for women in my age range. I don't think it really makes that huge of a difference.
