I love cooking lentils in the crockpot with some canned whole tomatoes (I can my own to keep the sodium down) with juice. Super easy - no soaking required and suprisingly yummy for only 2 ingredients!

Thank you! I've never had lentils. Maybe I'll pick up some this week and look in my cookbook for a recipe.

Beans and lentils both provide fiber and protein. I like veggies as well for the same nutrients.

200calories of:
cooked beans = 15g fiber 15g protein
cooked spinach = 21g fiber 26g protein.
cooked asparagus = 18g fiber 33g protein

Many veggies are in these ranges.

Hi....I kept struggling to get in my recommended protein amount. So, I did a lot of thinking and finally found the right additions to my meals to help me. I added some lean ground turkey to my salad along with a half cup of black beans for lunch. I wanted to keep the black beans for the fiber plus I wanted my lunch to stay with me longer. A couple of times I didn't add enough food and I was starving and reaching for the wrong things after two hours.

I'm really excited by what I'm learning here. It's really helping me take better care of myself!!
